BACKGROUNDThe Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce (HWCC) is a statewide, Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) whose mission is to provide financial resources and technical assistance to business and community development activities that improve economic opportunities in low to moderate income and underserved communities. The primary focus is to provide economic development assistance in business planning, market analysis, marketing strategies, effective day-to-day business operations as well as financing. HWCC also acts as an advocate for underserved communities in Wisconsin regarding business and economic issues.POSITION DESCRIPTIONWe are looking for a proactive Data and Operations Specialist to manage our extensive data systems and enhance operational efficiencies. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate data handling, timely reporting, and streamlined operations, supporting the organization's strategic goals. The candidate should be detail-oriented, analytical, and dedicated to supporting community development through effective data management.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDaily Data Management: Execute daily data entry tasks across multiple databases with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.Monitor data for inconsistencies or anomalies, and perform regular data cleansing to ensure the highest quality of data integrity.Manage secure data storage practices, adhering to legal and ethical standards for information security.Regular Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for external stakeholders, including funders and regulatory bodies, ensuring they meet specific requirements and deadlines.Analyze data trends and provide actionable insights to department heads to aid in strategic decision-making.Operational Support: Act as a liaison between departments to ensure that all data-driven needs, such as membership renewals and event registrations, are met promptly and accurately.Handle logistics and data tracking of special projects, such as business development programs or member surveys.Assist the Director of Operations in managing resource allocation, administrative support, and other special projects as assigned.Process Optimization: Regularly review and update operational procedures and documentation, ensuring processes remain efficient and aligned with organizational itiate and lead projects to implement new technologies or methodologies that improve data processing and reporting capabilities.Develop and maintain a feedback loop with department heads and staff to collect insights on system improvements and implement necessary changes.Training and Support: Design and deliver training modules for new hires and ongoing staff development, focusing on data management tools and processes.Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for data-related queries from staff to ensure continuous operational efficiency.Develop user manuals and FAQs for in-house data systems to facilitate self-help among pliance and Auditing: Conduct regular audits of data use and storage to ensure compliance with national and international regulations.Update internal policies in response to new legislation affecting data privacy and operations. APPLICANT CRITERIA Valid state driver's license.Associate degree from an accredited college, Bachelor's degree a plusAt least 3 years of experience in data management or operational roles, ideally within a nonprofit or financial setting.Expertise in database management, data analysis, and reporting tools.Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication skills for explaining data concepts to non-technical staff.May require some evenings and weekends.
