This includes playing a lead role in the development and execution of the mission and strategic goals for child and adolescent behavioral health (BH) care and services from the OBH. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and overseeing new and ongoing initiatives and clinical services. This role includes the provision of BH care within BH emergency and crisis settings, inpatient units, and outpatient services at Health + Hospitals (H+H) facilities, as well as assisting externally to the facilities, including but not limited to the educational system (i.e., school-based clinics) and the NYC Department of Education, the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the NYC Administration for Child Services, and Gotham sites. This role will also assist in interdepartmental planning and implementation outside of BH services, such as primary care and inpatient pediatrics.General tasks and responsibilities will include: Collaborative leadership in the development, implementation, and execution of the child and adolescent BH mission and strategic plan, with the Director of Strategy and Growth for Children's BH servicesCoordinate, oversee, and direct the efforts of the central OBH child and adolescent team, in collaboration with the other OBH senior leadership and strategicoperational staffHelp facilitate interfacility efforts such as the Child and Adolescent Directors' meetings and Directors of Psychiatry meetings, where applicable to child and adolescent BH servicesProvide direct clinic consultation, assessment, and development of child-and-adolescent-BH-related guidelinesguidance, workflows, and protocols Oversee and assist child and adolescent OMH clinics in increasing access to care, developing workflows, and implementing clinical best practicesEncourage and work with other H+H departments outside of BH services to improve screening, engagement, treatment, and referral to child and adolescent BH care as appropriateIn partnership with OBH senior and strategicoperational staff, assist with planning of new program development, applying for new fundinggrant opportunities, and developingimplementing citystate initiativesIn partnership with OBH senior and strategicoperational staff, oversee any specialty projects and initiatives under the childadolescent behavioral health continuum of services in emergencycrisis, inpatient, and outpatient settings (eg., Child Crisis Intervention Service (CCIS), Caring Transitions, mental health continuum, Transition Aged Youth program, etc.)Develop and implement evidence-based child and adolescent BH optimizations across the enterprise using a system approach from expert consensus to council approvalsEnsure the development and tracking of clinical reports, data, and outcomes for child and adolescent BH careServe as a direct patient care consultation and assistance for difficult cases and questionsAll other assignments as neededMinimum Qualifications:Applicants must have all of the following: 1. Graduation from a medical school approved by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association. 2. Completion of an acceptable internship in an approved hospital. 3. A license to practice medicine in the State of New York. 4. Certification by American Board in field of specialization or a faculty appointment of Associate Professor or higher in a medical school recognized by the American Medical Association. 5.
