Job Description:

Technical Staffing Resources is looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead our building services design team in Fire Protection, HVAC & Plumbing. The Wilmington Operations Center supports multiple mechanical, HVACFP and plumbing design efforts from conceptual design through construction support for Chemical and Biofuel clients. Out clients range from large multi-nationals to start-up companies intensely focused on providing unique solutions which require creative and out of the box thinking. This role is a critical leadership role to manage our building services core group as well as oversee key subcontractors and KBR's international design office for work share. Your experience must include managing small teams in both industrial building HVAC, plumbing systems, laboratory areas as well as process applications such as dust collection systems and vapor management systems. The ideal candidate will also have fire protection experience. In-depth knowledge of industry codes is mandatory. In this position, you will be developing scope of services, work hour estimates and schedules that role up into the overall Mechanical discipline. Work location is a hybrid schedule; 2-3 days in the office with work assigned from the Newark, DE office and may require occasional travel to the client sites.Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Responsible for the Front-End Engineering and production design deliverables for large capital projects, TIC in excess of $100MMResponsible for the technical oversight and leadership of other engineers and designers.Must have experience with development of project scope, work hour estimates, project budgets, schedules and mechanical construction deliverables. Shall be capable of working as a member of an integrated engineering team to produce a coherent, executable construction package.Ability to be able to work independently as well as monitor mentor more junior engineers to meet the required deliverables on one large project or several simultaneous smaller projects. May be required to conduct vendor drawing reviews, client interface, model reviews, and related calculations.Deep knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection.Required Education, Experience, & Skills ?Bachelor's degree in engineering required; Mechanical discipline preferred.10+ years (minimum) of experience in industrial and commercial design of HVAC and Plumbing systems.Fire protection experience preferred.Professional Engineering License (P.E.) preferred.Proven leadership skills with small engineering design teams and a wide range of very diverse clients from multi-nationals to start-up companies. Working Experience with the following:Cooling towers, Chillers, Fans, Boilers, Pumps, AHUs, Heat Pumps, Humidification Systems, Hot Water Heaters.Designing Clean Room EnvironmentsDesigning Dust Collection SystemsDesign of plumbing systems including domestic hotcold water lines and sanitarywaste lines.Ventilation for potential hazard mitigationFluent with national codes and standards (ICC, ASHRAE, SMACNA, and NFPA)HVAC Design Programs Including CHVAC, Trane Trace, AutoCAD and MicroStation.Building Automation and Control Systems.FP design codes.Working knowledge of other engineering disciplines and the ability to coordinate with them to meet design requirements.Ability to travel as needed to survey client sites.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with supervisory experience.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSTravel to client sites will comply with all KBR and Client Safety Rules, Processes and ProceduresWork at client sites may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as fire-retardant clothing, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots.Work at client sites may require moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas, ascendingdescending stairs, walking the client property.This may include climbing ladders, lifting to up to 35 lbs., etc.
