Position Title: Process Engineer - Insulated LineLocation: Houston, TXRole Overview:The Process Engineer for Precision Glass Industries' new insulated line in Houston is in a critical position responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and optimization of the insulated line. This role is essential for meeting production expectations, maintaining high-quality glass products, and promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and housekeeping within the facility.Key Role and Responsibilities: Operations:Operate an insulated line, meeting schedule and productivity standards and optimizing production processes.Ensure that the line operates within specified parameters to meet production targets.Implement production plans and make necessary adjustments to optimize throughput.Develop the targets of the insulated line receipts for the different types of glasses keeping quality and distortion in specification. Machine Maintenance:Conduct routine inspections of the line equipment to ensure it is well-maintained and in good working condition.Coordinate with the maintenance team to address any equipment issues promptly and minimize downtime.Schedule base in production program and oversee preventive maintenance activities to avoid breakdowns and downtime.Implement machinery ownership and autonomous maintenance through operation team. Headcount:Recruit, train, and supervise operators for the tempering line.Set performance expectations and ensure operators are trained in safety, quality, and machine operation.Monitor operator performance and provide feedback for improvement. Quality Assurance:Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that insulated glass products meet company standards and customer specifications.Conduct quality checks at various stages of production and implement corrective actions when necessary.Document and track quality metrics to drive continuous improvement. Production Efficiency:Continuously analyze production processes to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement to meet OTD targets.Implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity.Monitor production output and work towards meeting or exceeding production targets. Safety and Compliance:Ensure a safe working environment for all employees by enforcing safety protocols and best practices.Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards related to production. Accountability and Reporting:Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure the performance of the insulated line.Prepare regular reports on production, quality, and maintenance activities for management review.Hold team members accountable for meeting targets and following established processes. Housekeeping and Organization:Enforce cleanliness and organization standards within the production area to maintain a safe and efficient workspace.Implement 5S principles (Sort, set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) for housekeeping and organization. Training and Development:Identify training needs for operators and maintenance staff and facilitate training programs to enhance their skills and knowledge.Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team. Communication:Maintain open and effective communication channels with other departments such as quality control, logistics, and management.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and optimize processes. Qualifications:Bilingual Communications.Teamwork, productivity, and objectives oriented.Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (preferred).Prior experience in glass or similar manufacturing processes.Strong leadership and supervisory skills.Excellent problem-solving abilities.Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control standards.Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
