The role....This is a newly created position reporting to our new VP of Finance who is building the finance function for our high growth business. As the Senior Financial Analyst, you will work alongside our VP and have a direct impact the trajectory of our business. You will play a pivotal role in partnering with department heads to develop and maintain detailed forecasts, budgets, and financial models. This role will require exceptional Excel skills, including proficiency in working with large data sets.Examples of the work you'll own...Collaborate with department heads to develop and maintain detailed forecasts and budgets, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and providing actionable insights to drive performance improvement.Prepare board materials and board packs, including financial analyses, KPI tracking, and strategic recommendations.Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making processes, including scenario analysis and sensitivity testing.Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize resource allocation and drive efficiency initiatives.Own and maintain key financial KPIs, providing regular reporting and analysis to stakeholders.Conduct ad hoc financial analyses to support strategic initiatives and special projects as needed.How we measure success...Accuracy of financial forecasts and budgets.Variance analysis and identification of performance drivers.Timeliness and quality of board materials and presentations.Effectiveness of financial models in supporting decision-making processes.Stakeholder satisfaction with financial analyses and insights.What we are looking for...A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably at a startup or high-growth direct-to-consumer brand.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience working with large data sets and complex formulas (e.g., xlookups, index match, sumifs).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.A collaborative mindset and openness to feedback. You appreciate that great work is a product of collective effort and are comfortable expressing your ideas and changing your mind when presented with compelling perspectives.Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous start-up environment.Ideally, candidates will possess an in-depth understanding of the beauty and wellness industry and its market trends.A degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field is required; a Master's degree would be a bonus.Other fun details...The Senior Financial Analyst reports to our VP of Finance, Dennis Nealis. Based in our LA office, located in Culver City, this role is expected to be in the office Monday through Thursday, with flex to work from home on Friday.Your base salary is just one part of your total compensation package. The base salary range is between $110k-$130K. We carefully consider a wide range of factors to determine individual pay, including but not limited to job-specific skills, years of relevant experience, size of business & teams you've led and relevant education andor professional training.
