FLSA Status: Regular - Full-time - Exempt                                       Department: CorporateLast Revision Date: 041724                                                              Reports To: GM-Marine  Position Summary:The Director Product Tankers  reports to the Vitus Marine General Manager and is responsible for safe and efficient operations of chartered ships into Alaska. Typical charters are an MR foreign flagged tanker to anchor in various locations around Western Alaska where it provides STS operations to Vitus's fleet of barges. Direct operation season is typically April through November.  Essential Job Functions:·        Ensure compliance with Jones Act·        Subject matter expert on Polar Code·        Coordinate communication between the ship and Vitus tugsbarges·        Part of the Marine dispatch team·        Review fuel specifications when cargo is loaded·        Comply with US Customs rules on entering cargos·        Assist in selecting and vetting tankers·        Facilitate comminution with owners, managers, pilots, mooring masters, and regulatory agencies Other Job Responsibilities:·        After hours accessibility·        Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: ·        Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or related field·        Five (5) years' experience in CPP foreign tankers coming to US waters·        Proven experience in a leadership role Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: ·        Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, specifications, operating and maintenance instructions, company policy, procedure manuals andor state and federal regulations·        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence·        Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals as well compute rates, ratios, and percentages.·        Ability to solve practical problems associated with ship to ship transfers·        Skilled in handling situations in which limited standardization and multiple variables exist  Education:·        Bachelor's Degree Salary:·        $150,000+ (DOE) + bonus plan   Physical DemandWork Environment:The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
