Job Description:

The AccessionerLaboratory Assistant performs the intake processing for all patient specimens and assists the technologists with testing and facility and instrument maintenance at the Variantyx Framingham, MA location, Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with rotating weekends shifts.Responsibilities:• Receive and triage all patient specimens for testing.• Accession and manage patient information within the LIMS database.• Resolves unverified patientsample information.• Performs internal review of patient charts.• Unpacks and stores reagents and supplies.• Manages inventories and purchase orders.• Biobanking: sorts samples and distributes them to the appropriate storage.• Maintains designated laboratory equipment.• Performs QAQC duties as assigned (eyewash checks, temperature readings etc.• Prepares samples for processing.• Uses various laboratory computer systems for labeling, inquiry, results as needed.• Disposes of bio-hazardous and chemical waste.• Assists with department quality and process improvement projects.• Sets up supplies for the assigned work area.• Discards specimens as needed.• Assists Facility Manager in the lab facility needs.• All other duties as assigned.Qualifications:• Ability to work well within a team environment• Strong attention to detail, and accuracy• Excellent interpersonal skills.• Excellent computer skills.Location: Framingham, MA
