Senior Director, Supply Chain OperationsLocation: Brooklyn, NY**DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY**Reporting directly to the Vice President of Management Services, the System Director of Supply Chain Operations is responsible for managing and directing the in-bound and internal supply chain services at all the hospitals acute-care locations. Areas of responsibility include on-site procurement, operating room, pre and post-operative, central sterile, anesthesia and cardio-vascular center inventory teams, on-site value analysis, receiving department, supply distribution center, ERP and mail room. The Sr System Director, in addition to site-specific responsibilities, is also able to lead system-wide process improvementproject teams including Supply Chain and multi-disciplinary clinical andor nonclinical participants.Oversee the day-to-day activities of the operations of the Client siteDevelop and implement methods and systems for improving operational efficiencies, and control supply and instrument inventory. This will include the procurement,receiving and handling, transportation, storing, accounting and issuing of materials and instruments.Ensure adequate supply levels and coordinate timely supply distribution.Maintain open lines of communication with the client to ensure that materials meet the required standard.Provide leadership, guidance and support to physicians and staff to develop their understanding of supply chain best practices to ensure operational and financial goals are met.Develop cost reduction programs while maintaining client satisfaction levels.Identify sourcing opportunities, service improvements and product standardization consistent with the goals of meeting the client's expectations.Maintain and support all automated systems for purchasing and receiving activities.Determine budgetary needs for designated areas and manage to the proscribed budget.Provides administrative oversight of all hospital-based Supply Chain Operations and the Hospital Medicine Warehouse function.Manages the selection, performance, and vendor relationship with Hospital Medicine's MedSurg Distribution partnerIs responsible for Hospital Medicine's Vendor credentialing, compliance and performance management systemAlong with site-specific Ops Leaders is Supply Chain "single point of contact" for each facility and represents Hospital Medicine Supply Chain in agreed upon meetings. Works with appropriate area teammates, department leaders, and management to ensure continuity of customer relationships and is able to resolve issues face to face with end users.Maintains a strong connection with all facility specific AdministrativeClinical Leadership to ensure that all core Supply Chain functions are meeting current needs.Is respectful of each organizations culture while fully supporting the overall Wellforce system mission and philosophy.Establishes, in conjunction with system management, realisticobtainable short and long-range goals. Goals must be in agreement with the strategic goals set withfor the customer through contracts and strategic plans.Project coordinator and management of value analysis goals, product conversions, and ERP implementation. Coordinating and assisting in alignment of local and system goals, projects, and timelines.Continually employs a process improvement philosophy driven by both externally identified areas of concern andor as brought forth by front line staff. Encourages staff participation and problem-solving methodologies that are metric driven, inclusive of both Supply Chain and any others that are involved or impacted. Tracks process changes using appropriate data to ensure expected outcomes are maintained. Recognizes successes and celebrates staff's involvement.Manage and maintain relationships with major onsite business partners (medical surgical distribution, office supplies, surgical reps, inside delivery partners, etc)Provides guidance and general direction to the teammates who perform on-site business functions so they provide an accurate, timely, efficient and effective operation of the various patient support service departments, assigned. This includes aiding these teammates in formulating all operating policiesprocedures to support the facilities mission. Develops and implements emergency plans for all contingencies at the local level and assists in alignment at the system level where applicable.Develops Best Practices by communicating and sharing of the policiesprocedures. Directly supervises the performance of assigned staff, including hiring, firing, disciplining, trainingdevelopment and performance reviews. Supports assigned staff in their need to perform the same functions with their personnel. Coordinates this function with the appropriate facility management.Approvesrecommends hiring, training, evaluation, discipline and discharge decisions on subordinate teammates.Responsible for budget formulation in conjunction with system budget. Preparesadministers operational and capital expenditure budgets for the department, incorporating longshort term goals and forecasting personnel and equipment needs. Monitors individual department expenditures to assure fiscal responsibility and accountability.Responsible for coordinating with finance department and compliance department to perform year-end inventory activities. Develop, implement, and manage cycle counting activities to include quarterly inventory true ups with all main inventory areas.Working in coordination with the facility management, assures compliance with standards of all the accreditation and regulatory bodies and commissions, in relationship to supply management, including JC, DPH, OSHA, CMS and FDA.Represents the department on appropriate planning and administrative committees as assigned.SkillsStrong knowledge of Human Resource Policy and ProcedureHigh level of proficiency and demonstrated effectiveness in problem solving and implementing new programs related to increased departmental and organizational operating efficiency.Highly effective verbal and written communication skills are required to work with hospital administrators, clinical staff as well as outside agencies and vendors.Proficient knowledge of productivity andor process improvement techniques, inventory control, negotiation techniques, purchasing procedures and ethics, business law, uniform commercial code, finance and budgeting.Proven ability to lead, and manage the leadership of, multiple large-scale engagements, preferably in a diverse geographicdemographic setting.General knowledge of supply chain, information systems, personal computer and basic statistics is requiredHigh level of proficiency in directing, monitoring, evaluating and motivating the performance of professional managementsupervisory staff.An understanding of industry standard, future thinking and emerging technology.
