Job SummaryThe Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for any and all matters specific to assigned accounts. The Account Manager is responsible for developing strong relationships with customers, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders, and identifying new business opportunities among existing customers.Job ResponsibilitiesProcess timely and accurate orders in accordance with customer needsBuild and maintain strong, long-term client relationshipsDevelop trusted advisor relationship with key accounts, customer stakeholders, and executive sponsorsNegotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profitsDevelop new business with existing customers andor identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotasCollaborate with sales team to identify and grow opportunities within territoryMaintain ongoing knowledge of plan workload, stock levels, current market, contract process and deliver schedules to provide accurate information to the customersDevelop and maintain good working knowledge of end user applications of assigned metal products to maximize sales potential to meet customer needsCoordinate with management to assure optimum lead-time and inventory levelsIdentify any agedobsolete inventory with suggested dispositionPrepare monthly reports on account statusClearly communicate the progress of monthlyquarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholdersEnsure conformance to Corporate mill claim policyAdvise management of challenging customer requests and escalate issues as neededCoordinate appointments with vendors and operational staff to minimize production time for material inspections at plants and ensure successful resolution of claimsSupply data, facts, etc to improve quality controlOther related duties as assignedQualificationsProblem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trendsResults driven individual with high performance standards of themselves and others; with the ability to motivate and lead the sales teamBachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, sales or related field or Associate's degree with equivalent relevant work experience Previous work experience in sales, management, account management, or relevant experienceBasic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office SuiteStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skillsCustomer service orientedAbility to multi-task and manage multiple customer accounts
