LHH Recruiting Solutions is recruiting for a skilled and experienced Patent Prosecution Paralegal to join a Chicago Intellectual Property firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing and filing US and foreign patent applications, managing deadlines, and providing support to intellectual property legal professionals. The paralegal will be responsible for a variety of tasks including preparing and filing patent applications, organizing and filing documents, and conducting patent-related research. Responsibilities:Prepare and submit US patent applications (including utility, US national state, and design) to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, as well as handle patent responses and other documentation such as assignments.Manage the daily docket of deadlines, ensuring timely completion and accurate updating of the system.Coordinate the preparation and submission of foreign patent applications (including PCT, non-PCT, national stage, etc.) to the United States Receiving Office, International Bureau of WIPO, or through communication with foreign counsel, including responses to Invitation to Correct Defects, Chapter II Demands, and Article 10 and 34 anize, draft, and file informational disclosure statements with the USPTO.Collaborate with foreign law firms to gather and provide necessary materials for filing in foreign patent applications (including prior art, search and exam reports from counterpart applications, spreadsheet of counterpart applications).Review and respond to correspondence from foreign counsel, clients, and domestic outside counsel.Conduct research on patent-related information from various credible sources including the MPEP, Brown Books, and Derwent for legal professionals.Provide support to multiple intellectual property legal professionals.Perform other duties as assigned by the legal professionals. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate.3 to 5 years of experience as a patent prosecution paralegal.Experience with electronic research tools and patent prosecution filing systems such as WIPO, Lexis Nexis, Westlaw and USPTO.Knowledge of US and foreign patent filing procedures.Proficiency in patent docketing software.Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
