If you want to know more about us, our team, and what we offer, please visit: Summary of PositionThe Director of Marketing is responsible for driving business development through marketing programs and campaigns. This position collaborates closely with Sales, Category Managers, and external partners to plan, coordinate, and execute campaigns and programs that drive new and incremental sales growth. This role also directly manages the members of the Marketing team, enforces accountability, and ensures expectations are met or exceeded. They will work closely with the VP Sales & Marketing on business planning, identification of growth opportunities, competitive analysis, and performance measurement. AccountabilitiesDevelop marketing strategies in collaboration with VP Sales & Marketing to support sales growth and generate product demand; execute annual marketing plan within set budget and with the assistance of collaborators.Cultivate understanding of Peterson Company brand personality, value proposition, product, and service offerings. Maintain relationships with relevant trade organizations and solicit marketing resources and funding to support campaigns. Accurately define customer audience for marketing initiatives and develop relevant campaigns to promote and educate target audiences about company products and services.Collaborate with National Sales and Graphic Design teams on product and packaging development from ideation through launch and promotion.Develop and implement systems for customer feedback about overall company and marketing initiatives.Provide continuous training and performance management to Marketing team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge required to deliver high quality performances. Maintain awareness of business and market-related trends and develop strategies to promote them with our team, customers, and consumers. Evaluate reception and impact of marketing campaigns and adjust strategy as needed to meet changing market and competitive conditions.Foster a culture of ownership, entrepreneurship, collaboration, development, and openness to new opportunities. Push team members to think globally and streamline processes.Prioritize and respond to internal and external communications promptly, or delegate as appropriate. Complete administrative work in a timely manner. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and QualificationsStrong communication skills to present, persuade, and communicate with diverse range of external partners and Peterson team members.Positive attitude and collaborative relationship with internal and external stakeholders.Strong business sense to identify opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on them.Strong analytic abilities with the ability to synthesize that information through words, images, and experiences.Ability to communicate in English effectively, including copy editing and copy writing skills.Strong ability to manage an independent position without direct supervision.Ability to motivate, coach, and counsel employees reporting to this position when a situation presents itself.Meet scheduled deadlines for achievement of Company goals and objectives through the ability to recognize and address priorities. Maintain an organized and efficient work environment.Ability to anticipate potential problems and employ strong decision-making and problem-solving skills to prevent or resolve them.Ability to operate basic computer and office equipment and portable electronics, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint).BA of Business Administration in Marketing or similar field or equivalent experience is preferredMinimum 5-7 years of experience in B2B andor B2C marketing. Detailed knowledge and experience in the food industry preferred.Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role managing a Marketing and Creative team. Must maintain current Food Worker Permit and knowledge of safe food handling practices in a commercial food prep environment, including at events and trade shows.This compensation information is a good faith estimate and provided in accordance with Washington's state law. The total annual compensation is estimated to start between $85,000 to $95,000 (combining base salary and bonus opportunities). The starting base salary will be determined based on the applicant's skills and experience which may affect the aforementioned range.
