RESEARCH PROJECT COORDINATORGENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Boston-based Research Coordinating Center is seeking an experienced project coordinator to support an existing National VA Research Program. The Research Project Coordinator position offers a wide variety of challenging and exciting opportunities to coordinate the development and management of a growing research consortium. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: This position reports to the National Program Manager and Center Deputy DirectorEXPECTATIONS OF ALL EMPLOYEES:Conform to Institute and VA standards of performance and conduct, including those pertaining to patient rights, so that the best possible customer service and patient care may be provided.Operate within BVARI's Financial Account Policies.Utilize BVARI's values as the basis for decision making and to facilitate the Institute's and the Research Center's mission.Follow established personnel and safety procedures.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Serves as a liaison between the Research Coordinating Center and the consortium of participating VA sites. In collaboration with Coordinating Center team and BVARI staff, establishes and follows processes for program administrative management.Supports IRB applications including initial submission, continuing review submissions, protocol collaboration with the National Program Manager, participates in program evaluation activities including monitoring established program goals, objectives, deliverables, and timelines; tracking site and program-level performance; gathering, analyzing and presenting performance data; and developing progress reports.Works with participating VA sites to identify and resolve issues that impact site performance. Support the development and implementation of site performance improvement plans. Works with participating sites to execute improvement plans and monitor progress. Under the direction of the National Program Manager, establishes and executes plans to address identified systematic challenges or barriers. Develops and presents trainings to enhance consortium of sites' knowledge and skills to foster achievement in program goals. Contributes to the writing of, and manages, program documents (e.g., training manuals, performance plans, program updates and announcements). Coordinates meetings and conference calls with Coordinating Center, consortium of sites, and monthly and annual program meetings to include setting agendas, meeting minutes, and tracking post-meeting action items to ensure completion. In coordination with the National Program Manager, initiates contact with internal and external collaborators as needed. Maintains a SharePoint portal to ensure all engaged VA sites can access program resources (e.g., best practices, training manuals).Organizes and maintains program central file using SharePoint.Follows center standard operating procedures and demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with research Good Clinical Practice standards.Protects patient and scientific confidentiality by ensuring security of research data and protected health information.Additional duties as assigned by the National Program Manager. QUALIFICATIONS AND ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:Minimum Bachelor of Science degree required with 5 or more years of experience in research project coordination. Preferred Masters-level education in scientificclinical field (e.g., Master of Public Health) with 2 or more years of experience in research project coordination. Have a good understanding of research infrastructure and program evaluation. Have a good understanding of the following subjects: clinical research regulations, clinical trials, electronic data capture, data workflow, report development, implementation & evaluation, performance management.Experience working with Microsoft Office applications including SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint and Forms. Professional writing, reporting and excellent communication skills.Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Ability to adapt quickly to the changing demands of the organization. Candidate must be a Massachusetts resident.
