The ideal candidate will possess a passion for urban and regional planning, exceptional analytical skills, and a creative mindset. As an Assistant Planner at Public Management, Inc., you will play a key role in conducting research, analyzing data, and developing strategies to support our clients' goals and objectives. Responsibilities:Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, objectives, and constraintsConduct research and analysis on a variety of planning issues, including land use, transportation, economic development, and environmental sustainabilityAssist in the preparation and presentation of planning documents, such as comprehensive plans, zoning ordinances, and development regulationsEngage with stakeholders, community members, and public officials to gather input and feedback on planning initiativesProvide technical support and expertise to project teams, ensuring that planning efforts are informed by best practices and relevant dataStay informed about emerging trends, policies, and technologies in the field of urban and regional planningCollaborate with GIS and planning staff in collecting field data for planning and mapping efforts.Attend workshops and information seminars related to job duties;Complete other duties as assigned by supervisors. Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Public Administration, or related field1-2 years of experience in planning, community development, or a related field (internship experience may be considered)Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and synthesize complex dataExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in preparing reports and presentationsProficiency in GIS, CAD, and other planning software is preferredAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of Texas planning regulations and practices is a plusPreference will be given to candidates with an AICP certification Benefits: The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000.
