Job Description:

The role of the Buyer is to process purchase orders, successfully interact with suppliers along with other departments, and answer questions relating to purchasing. This position is also responsible to organize and analyze data to ensure practices and procedures are working properly to improve margins.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Accurately enter and process company purchase orders for a variety of consumables, plant supplies, equipment, parts, tooling, and other outsourced products from suppliersObtain supplier acknowledgments and regularly communicate planned delivery dates and lead times with customer service and salesMonitor inventory levels and place replenishment PO's with suppliers for existing businessAttend the daily production meeting and communicate planned supplier delivery dates for upcoming customer shipmentsGain and continue to learn an in-depth understanding and level of product knowledge related to consumables and other products regularly purchasedNegotiate and source assigned commodities; create cost savings opportunitiesInteracts daily with sales, customer service, and accounting to provide exceptional internal and external customer serviceTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and safely. Previous work experience and training may be an acceptable "equivalent" based on hisher experience. The ability to work with limited supervision, as well as perform effectively in a team-oriented environment is a must. Three or more years purchasing experience preferred.
