Learn more about Bridge Boston here.THE POSITIONReporting to the Nurse, this specific position serves to enhance the health and safety of the child in order to improve student achievement.A Bridge Boston Charter School Per Diem Nurse can expect to:Triage and manage student emergencies as they ariseManage a comprehensive school health program consistent with the Massachusetts guidelines, regulations and statutes governing nursing and school healthCollaborate with other professionals, team members and community providers in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and other school health activitiesUsing the nursing process, collaborate with the parentguardian and student, where appropriate, to develop and implement an individualized health care plan for the studentAssist students and families to achieve optimal levels of wellness through health education and promotionApply appropriate nursing theory as the basis for decision-making in the school setting while expanding knowledge and skills in response to the student health needs and participating in researchCoordinate outside providers to assist in performing all mandated screeningsCollaborate with school administrators to obtain updated health records from every student; communicate with families, as necessary, to secure all required records from each studentQualificationsLicensed as a nurse in the Commonwealth of MassachusettsDemonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity; belief in the value of diversity Clear willingness to make and learn from mistakes Required - 5 days of training with the primary school nurse in JunePowered by JazzHRuPnA31aLIg
