Job DescriptionAs the inspection supervisor, you will be responsible for leading the quality inspection activities. Together with your team you will develop and deploy inspection plans, FAI (First Article Inspections), strategies that ensure turnaround of non-conforming materials, calibrations of gauges, equipment, and tooling. You will be responsible for ensuring your team has adequate capabilities and capacity to deliver the organization's business objectives. Collaboratively, with site leadership, you will prioritize key activities, manage MRB (Material Review Board), and maintain inventory accuracy of all items in MRB and inspect locations. Through Document Control you will adequately and efficiently maintain material traceability records, CoC's (Certificate of Conformance), Weld Maps, and inspection records. This role also provides support to supplier quality for ensuring supplier performance is met, providing support to the production and manufacturing teams to correct material issues. Essential Duties Include: Develop and implement inspection plans for incoming materials.Review and approve material for First Article InspectionAudit and maintain material traceability from supplier documentation, storage, to parent material traceability.Maintain the Calibration program.Lead the Material Review Board to ensure proper disposition.Assist supplier quality, purchasing, and suppliers in corrective and preventive action.Conduct yearly performance reviews for direct reports.Prepare and assist shipping in supplier returns due to non-conformities.Define & implement method for evaluating and certifying new employees.Assists with on-site audits and certifications. QualificationsBasic QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.5 to 7 years' technical and manufacturing experience in Quality Inspection2 to 3 years' supervisory experience Preferred Qualifications:Associate or bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or equivalent.7+ years' manufacturing experience5+ years' supervisory experienceOther RequirementsGood organizational skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft applications and resource planning systems.Must have strong auditing skills.Must be able to work hours as needed to complete assigned tasks.Must be willing and able to travel.Ability to effectively lead and maintain a working relationship with reports.Conduct root cause analysisAddress and implement corrective and preventive actions.Strong presentation skillsStrong judgment skills - must be able to make decisions with little guidance.
