Managing Consultant: Private Sector Sustainability Strategy Lead - North America Hybrid - New York City, Brooklyn (In the office 3 days a week or as agreed) Salary flexible depending upon seniority - indicative range $160,000 - $190,000. Eunomia work a "nine-day two-week schedule", full time employees have a 3-day weekend every other week. Summary of the Role: This is a new role within Eunomia and is a pivotal role in the company. You will have the flexibility to shape the role and the team to deliver the desired business growth working alongside our North American President. In addition to helping drive growth of the business, you will be pivotal in developing the team culture, developing junior resources, and providing leadership. You will play a key role in the overall people leadership of the US business, driving performance and a positive culture through a balance of challenge, support, and adaptability of leadership style. As the first Managing Consultant in the North America team, your specific area of focus will be to help drive forward Private Sector growth with a focus on developing our strategy consulting offering to supplement the technical advisory services that we provide. The business has a good relationship with a number of FMCG Companies, but further work is required to a) work with retailers and b) start to build out our experience with apparel brands. Eunomia are seen as policy and recycling system experts, and we would like to leverage this knowledge to grow our strategy consulting practice. The successful candidate will be a technical problem solver able to design high-level solutions, manage and build teams and develop Eunomia's client relationship management ethos. You will have strong technical understanding of relevant environmental and social governance topics in areas such as sustainable supply chains, strategy development and implementation, circular, natural or carbon economy policy and sustainability reporting. Day to day you will be developing strong commercial relationships with clients to understand their needs; developing novel creative solutions to meet them, collaboratively with a team of experts and supporting more junior members of staff to grow and deliver work to the satisfaction of the client. You will have demonstrated experience of cross-selling into existing clients and be adept at developing win themes to convert leads into successful sales. You will be responsible for the coordination of thought leadership with the support of Eunomia's marketing and communications team. You will be flexible, with a strong work ethic. You will be comfortable simultaneously leading and delivering several technical projects and bids, in line with deadlines and budgets. Highly organized, you will share our commitment to a high quality of work, as well as being able to demonstrate a personal commitment to tackling environmental and sustainability issues. Key Role Responsibilities: • Business Leadership o Providing leadership and direction to the team to ensure alignment of focus and direction with the strategic objectives of the company. o Providing inspirational leadership, coaching and development to drive performance and a positive culture across the wider US team. o Working closely with the Head of People & Change and the L&D Manager, driving big picture, commercial thinking across the team. o Working closely with other leaders across the business to integrate and ensure alignment with the broader Eunomia culture and values. • Business development: o Development and maintenance of a sales pipeline through proactive business development including setting up master services agreements. o Leading creative and collaborative development and management of a suite of offerings to take to market. o Growth of Eunomia's client network and strategic delivery partners. o Representing Eunomia at events and having a voice through social media o Managing bids including bid writing. • Client management: o Managing key clients, developing long term relationships. o Developing and embedding a relationship management ethos. • People management and development: o Line managing senior staff and their teams. o Working with Head of People to develop specific training needs. o Providing timely and constructive feedback. • Technical Leadership: o Lead projects and provide project direction. o Provide technical advice on sustainable supply chain management and sustainable business strategy. o Supporting teams to distil technical data into actionably outcomes for clients. • Reputation: o Increasing Eunomia's reputation as a dependable knowledge leading solutions provider for business in the sustainability sector. Candidate profile: • Experience of growing small teams in the sustainability sector • Extensive experience in the sustainability sector preferably with a focus on the circular economy. • Previous experience developing and growing teams and providing leadership. • Demonstrable track record of securing $1.5m+ annual sales revenue and have experience of maintaining sales pipeline. • Sustainability Consultancy experience (or a career history which is highly relatable). • Experience of working with C-Suite Executives on strategy as well as departments such as R&D, Sustainability and Procurement. • Ability to apply a system thinking approach to strategy development and solving client's problem statements. • Ability to develop and apply agile project management to project delivery. • Able to lead and enthuse technical teams and develop the next generation of critical technically oriented thinkers in this space. • In-depth knowledge of the environmental and social opportunities and challenges facing businesses, with a particular emphasis on the circular economy, and carbon economy through technical delivery experience. • Strong network of contacts and collaborators with Consumer Goods companies. • Acknowledged track record of high-profile thought leadership in circular economy and business sustainability. • Good verbal communicator, adept at building strong professional relationships. • Well-developed coaching and knowledge transfer skills. • Knowledge of sustainability accounting and reporting.
