Job Description:

Summary: The Test Engineer will be responsible for developing test fixtures, tooling and integration with LabView for use by engineering and production in the evaluation of components, electronics, and rotating machines (motors and generators).Position Duties: Essential functions of the position revolve around motor and generator development activities including, but not limited to the following: Ability to designconstruct automated test stands using Magtrol Dynos and related controllers. Basic drafting and CAD skills are needed along with the ability to communicate more complex requirements to mechanical dependently trouble shoot test equipment and set ups.Write Labview software to interact with the test hardware. This is necessary to automate ad hoc setups for prototypes and production.Work with other engineering personnel to determine the best test methods for respective product performance functions.Assist with the compilation of ATP test requirement data based on previous motor test knowledge.Document, (written and photos) respective test set-upsmanuals for new prototypes and production.Write test manuals and review procedures for customer test stands as required.Keep current on new developments in the test engineering field.The ability to communicate effectively through written means is a must. QualificationsEducation & Experience: B.S. Degree in a related engineering field with a minimum of five or more years of testing experience in an electromechanical, electrical or industrial environment. Must have 3+ years of direct LabView development experience. Degree requirement may be waived based on industry experience.Motor designassembly experience is a plus with a strong emphasis in actual product assemblytroubleshooting. Other mechanical and electrical testing experience will be considered.Understand and possess higher functional capability with LabView software to create programs for data collection and automating test hardware.Must be able to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and electrical wiringschematics.Thoroughly understands the functions of Oscilloscopes, Ammeters, Voltmeters, Strobes and Inductance meters.Working knowledge of setting up and running motor or other industrial equipment performance tests.The ability to simulate a customer's application with test equipment if the customer provides the load data for the rotating machines function.Working knowledge of motor controllers and power electronics is a plus.
