Job Description:

The Everson Museum of Art seeks a highly motivated, experienced, and detail-oriented Marketing and Communications Manager to join its dynamic and growing team. The Marketing and Communications Manager reports to the Marketing and Development Director and is responsible for the execution of all communications and marketing activities for the Everson Museum, including advertising, eMarketing, media relations, email marketing, website, social media, and audience development efforts. The Marketing and Communications Manager will play a key role in an overall innovative marketing and communications strategy that effectively attracts and retains a diverse and large audience for the Everson Museum and its programs. RESPONSIBILITIES Vision and strategic framework for marketing and communications Develop and implement a strategic communications and marketing plan to maximize awareness of and audience for the Museum and its programsGenerate visibility in local, regional, and national markets for exhibitions and programsIdentify and target key audiences to build awareness and engagementManage Museum messaging priorities (short- and long-term), creating consistent brand profile across all marketing, media relations, and communications platformsProvide regular reports and overviews to Museum leadership about all communications and marketing initiatives Public relations and communications efforts Alongside the Director, create and manage media relations and public information strategies"”local, regional, and nationalManage outside public relations contractors as needed to achieve maximum value and resultsExecute production of all media relations efforts"”releases, alerts, interviews, and pitchesBe a spokesperson for the Everson and act as media relations liaison during press previews and visits, when needed Marketing and branding efforts Assist in developing and implementing integrated marketing plans for exhibitions, public programs, fundraising campaigns, and special eventsOversee all media buys and promotional partnershipsRepresent the Museum and build partnerships in citywide promotion and tourism effortsSupervise all photography and videography and outside contractorsGraphic design·       Assist in the creation of print and digital marketing materials·       Maintain website updates, including page creation and listing s for events, classes, activities, exhibitions, etc.·       Gather content and lay out the weekly e-newsletter·       Work with the curatorial staff to design and produce exhibition catalogs·       Design and produce the Everson's twice-annual Bulletin publication·       When needed, take quality photos of building, galleries, and activities for use in collateral, on social, and on the websiteSocial MediaWork with the Director of Marketing and Development, develop and execute a results-driven social media strategyDevelop and curate engaging content for all Everson social media platformsAssist in the creation and editing of written, video, and photo contentMaintain unified brand voice across different social media channelsMaintain a social media calendarMonitor social media channels for industry trendsReview analytics and create reports on key metricsQUALIFICATIONS Minimum of three years experience in marketing, advertising, creative, content development, social media, and public relations preferably in a museum, cultural, or entertainment venue, or nonprofit organizationMust have strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, database management and content management systemsResults-proven track record of developing and implementing successful and innovative marketing and communications strategiesThe ability to work within a fast-paced environment, juggle multiple projects simultaneously with ability to prioritizeThe ability to work as a team player, mentor junior staff and interns, and work with multiple constituenciesStrong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for Museum events Submit a letter of application, resume, references to Museum of Art is committed to maintaining a work place free of unlawful discrimination based on race, color, religion, creed, national origin or ancestry, ethnicity, sex, gender (including gender nonconformity and status as a transgender or transsexual individual), age, physical or mental disability, citizenship, military status, including past, current or prospective service in the uniformed services, genetic information, predisposing genetic characteristics, marital status, partnership status, reproductive decision-making, sexual orientation and any other characteristics or other protected classes recognized by applicable federal, state or local law.
