We show that passion through fierce commitment to our customers and colleagues.· Embrace Evolution - We are hungry for improvement and never satisfied with the status quo.__**Associate Director of Inbound LogisticsPosition Summary:The Associate Director of Inbound Logistics will lead and direct all functions of the Inbound Logistics Department including, but not limited to, inventory receipts, compliance, inbound freight negotiations and all functions related to the movement of inbound shipments. This position will be responsible for the on-time delivery of goods purchased and compliance with government regulations across multiple countries, from a variety of sources and via multiple modes of transportation- such as ocean freight. The Associate Director will participate in the development of our inbound logistics strategy. This position will develop and negotiate transportation contracts globally and domestically and will work in parallel with our overseas buying agents to coordinate import logistics functions to feed our domestic distribution operations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for all aspects related to managing and streamlining an efficient Inbound Logistics Department importing from various countries. Directlead and develop a 3-5 person logistics team in US, as well as work in parallel with our overseas sourcing and operations team to identify process gaps and drive operational efficiencies.Identify, engage and manage ocean carriers, booking, freight forwarding, customs entries, trans-loading and local deliveries.Keep abreast of import transportation industry trends, market and current events. Monitor container booking activities particularly at the peak season.Work cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Merchandise Planning and Finance to execute financial commitments of inventory purchases and customer shipments.Drive business metrics (safety, quality, on-time delivery and cost) and others as directed.Support sales team as needed to secure new opportunities.Ensure full compliance with local and federal regulations for importexport compliance and financial accountability.Establish and enforces policies and procedures of the company as they relate to supply chain, procurement and other areas as required.Coordinate with Accounting and Finance teams to forecast vendor payments and manage all accountingfinancial transactions with vendors to assure accuracy and compliance with the company's processes and policies.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:Education:Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, TransportationOperations preferredExperience:10+ Years of global supply chain experience with consumer productsExperience in importing goods in full container load from South Asia is a must, other global experience (CFS as well as other regions) is desiredKnowledge of HS duty, import regulations in home décor and textiles a plus5 years mid-level management experience of a high-performing teamSolid track record of on-time delivery while meeting cost targetsSkills:Strong fundamental knowledge with respect to procurement, import processes, freight, and planningProficient in the use of ERP systems and Microsoft OfficeAble to identify processes needing improvement and make recommendationsOrganized and detail oriented to achieve great serviceAbility to analyze data to make decisions on process efficiency and cost savingsGood finance and accounting acumenPossess a strong commercial acumen and ability to interface effectively with a wide array of persons internal and external to the organizationKnowledge of best practices within Global LogisticsPossess excellent negotiation skills thru communication and win-win relationship buildingDemonstrate excellent written & verbal communication skillsBe adaptable and flexible to schedules to provide exceptional service to all projectsPromote a partnership culture based on company's core valuesPerform other related duties as assignedJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programEmployee discountFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offReferral programRetirement planVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayExperience:global supply chain: 10 years (Preferred)management: 5 years (Preferred)import: 3 years (Required)processing: 3 years (Preferred)Work Location: In person
