Hans Hempler worked in the family sausage business in Germany as a youngster. He served as an apprentice sausage maker and learned first-hand the family's old secret recipes becoming a master sausage maker before moving to the United States. We strive to achieve these results by purchasing high quality ingredients and by employing passionate people, training them well, and developing an extended "family" of employees dedicated to accomplishing our mission.Reporting to the Marketing Director, an Associate Brand Manager (ABM) is responsible for leading projects and providing support for the Hempler's Food Group family of brands. This is a highly collaborative position where you will lead cross functional teams across finance, operations, and R&D to commercialize business initiatives, as well as collaborating with agency partners for media, design, and sponsorship executions. This position requires strong analytical skills to identify key business drivers and develop recommendations to drive business growth. You will work closely with the Marketing Director and Executive Team to develop innovation strategy to address unmet consumer and customer needs to profitably grow the business and will be responsible for commercializing initiatives.SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm flexibility on hours, the position will be based out of Kent, WA but travel may be required to other manufacturing facilities in Western Washington and off-site field marketing events, 1 day Remote.Wage: $76,000.00 - $95,000.00 annually, subject to all required taxes and withholdings.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Analyze business performance and market trends utilizing syndicated data to assess brand health and identify actionable insights that can be presented to executive team, marketing department, and sales leadership.Support product innovation and pipeline development through competitive analysis, consumer research, package design, pricing and promotion strategies, and marketing support plan.Work collaboratively with Marketing Director and agency partners to develop media plan, support sponsorship activations, and execute field marketing events.Lead cross functional team to execute marketing initiatives ranging from innovation launch to portfolio optimization.Partner with Sales team to develop deep understanding of customer business, pricing strategies, and competitive environment. Leverage knowledge to create strategic selling stories to support core brand portfolio and innovation.Work with graphic design team to create concepts and designs for packaging, trade shows, advertising, and collateral materials.Manage day to day marketing budget and support annual planning process.Performs other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in marketing or business-related field required.1-2 years marketing experience - consumer packaged goods experience preferred.Microsoft Office computer software applications at a high to expert user level.Syndicated data use - IRINielsenMust have working knowledge of Marketing business standards and practices in consumer-packaged goods.Working knowledge of project management, stage gate processFluent utilizing analytics to make data-driven decisions and recommendations.Self-starter with eagerness to learn & desire to rollup sleeves.Ability to work cooperatively with cross function team as well as independently.Strategic influencing abilitiesPassionate about brands, consumer insights, and excitement about innovation and package designStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, passion for marketing, communication & teamwork, ability to multi-taskFlexible and accommodating as priorities rapidly change.Ability to successfully meet deadlines and milestones across multiple simultaneous projects.Outstanding project management skillsKnowledgeable of business finances, understand P&L drivers.Ability to anticipate future business opportunities or problems and developing strategies that address them proactively.Strong Microsoft 365, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookMust be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.Business travel required on occasion between manufacturing facilities in Western Washington and off-site field marketing events.
