Job Description:

The HR Manager (HRM), based at our Chicago Heights, Illinois manufacturing facility, is the strategic HR business partner overseeing employeelabor relations, talent acquisition, performance management, and total compensation activities. This position supports both the Chicago Heights and Chicago, Illinois facilities working with site leadership, employees and HR colleagues to deliver value-added service in support of business objectives, improve work relationships, build morale and enhance the employee experience. The HRM maintains an effective business acumen about the facilities' operations culture and priorities to deliver effective HR solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesManages complex employee relations issues and conflicts as needed, conducts effective, thorough and objective fact-finding meetingsProvides performance management guidance to site managers (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)Provides compensation guidance to site managers (promotions, merit, adjustments, bonus)Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees and maintenance of records, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory complianceProvides HR policy guidance and interpretationWorks closely with managers and the talent acquisition team to develop and implement effective talent acquisition strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates for the organizationAnalyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team or site leadership to proactively develop solutionsProvides guidance and input on site organizational design, workforce strength and succession planning for key rolesIdentifies training needs and develops plans to address skill gapsManages site employee leave of absence and return to work processMaintains knowledge of company benefits programs and works with the Benefits Team to provide guidance to employeesRequired Education And ExperienceBachelor's degree in HR or related field; advanced degree in Labor Relations or Human Resources a plusSHRM-CPSCP or PHRSPHR a plusMinimum of 7 years' HR experience in a unionized work environment, manufacturing experience preferredExperience working in a fast-paced and changing environmentDemonstrated Labor Relations experience including a proven record of handling union grievances and participating in arbitration and other labor-related proceedings such as contract negotiationsExperience with high volume full-cycle talent acquisitionRequired Knowledge, Skills And AbilitiesWorking knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employeelabor relations, diversity, performance management, federalstate employment lawsCapability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policiesDemonstrated ability to build trust among employees at all levelsKnowledge of US labor and employment laws.Ability to interpret labor contract language, draft bargaining proposals and agreements.Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality working with highly sensitive informationExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the demonstrated ability to communicate with employees at all levelsExceptional interpersonal and customer service skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesStrong analytical skills and problem-solving skills, including demonstrated proficiency analyzing dataProficient in MS Office and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) systemsAbout InnophosInnophos is a leading international producer of specialty ingredient solutions that deliver far-reaching, versatile benefits for the food, health, nutrition and industrial markets.
