You've probably seen, used, or enjoyed food cooked on one of our classic square grills, but you probably don't know our name. That's where you come in. Now we also want to make ourselves known, build our brand, and establish a passionate community around the millions of Americans who use our products every addition to our history of success and our growing Stakmore line of high-end wood folding furniture, we're embarking on an exciting period of innovation with plans to develop multiple new Americana grills each year. We are looking for someone to create and execute product launches for these exciting new products.As a Product Development Engineer working with grill products, you will provide technical, engineering, and project launch coordination services as part of a product development team. This will include new product development and product follow-up with production monitoring on a regular basis. Documenting and verifying product specifications, coordination of factory prototypes, evaluation, and testing of samples. This role reports directly to the Director of Product Development.Duties and Responsibilities· Use our internal APQP Product Launch System for on-time product launch, and alert management to possible delays via team feasibility gate reviews andor immediate notification of task or project delays or budget overruns.· Identify and qualify potential suppliers for components and finished products.· Monitor prototype sample builds and conductmonitor testing and evaluation.· Provide 2D and 3D drawings, assemblies, detailed drawings, and quality specifications as required.· Interpret engineering drawings and cad data to construct andor inspect products or samples to confirm compliance with the specification.· Assist andor conduct performance testing and evaluation of samples such as temperature testing, mechanical testing, package testing, cosmetic evaluation, and other product testing summarized in test reports.· Assist in the creation of owner's manuals and instruction labels.· Conduct product evaluation of competitor samples and perform life testing of products.· Lead product update meetings and attend various product shows as necessary.· Provide ongoing technical and engineering support with manufacturing engineering to improve yields and reduce systematic issues.· All other duties as assigned.· Participate in training as required.· Follow all safety standards and wear all safety equipment as required.QualificationsA product builder, passionate about creating and curating the next steps in outdoor cooking, with an overall mechanical aptitude, an inherent curiosity, ability to think "outside the box", and knowledge equivalent to that received through graduation from college-level courses, or equivalent knowledge gained through work experience.A team leader, able to rally a team around big picture goals, set clear objectives, and manage the team to success while handling multiple projects, overseeing outside partners, and getting hands-on when necessaryA champion collaborator, ready to enthusiastically and effectively partner with individuals, teams, and departments across the company in official cross-functional efforts, willing to ask for help, and always looking for opportunities to support colleaguesCritical Experience· 5+ years of continual growth in roles and responsibilities· Strong project management skills· Proven problem solver, able to overcome obstacles to achieve the end goal.· History of meeting cost goals for product launch.Required Skills· Strong creative and problem-solving skills.· Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.· Willingness for light travel· Proficient in Microsoft, Collaboration Products, and Adobe· Proficient in Solidworks or equivalent modeling software.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceDisability insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth Savings accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to Friday, 8-5Work Location:Greeneville, TN - central to many popular attractions, Remotely:NoTravel:Yes, as needed to meet with customers and attend trade shows
