JOB SUMMARYThe Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Director is responsible for leading and overseeing Company HSE programs across all operations for developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and initiatives to ensure compliance with safety regulations while promoting a culture of health and well-being and minimize environmental impact.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES• Develop and execute a comprehensive HSE strategy aligned with Company objectives and industry trends & best practices while ensuring compliance with all current and applicable federal & state safety codes, rules and regulations.• Establish, update and enforce HSE policies in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.•Maintain positive working relationships with regulatory agencies, stakeholders and community groups to ensure industry standards.•Ensure accurate completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting and provide to applicable agencies as needed.•Identify potential risks, hazards & areas for improvement and implement proactive measures to mitigate these concerns and minimize workplace injuries & accidents.•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HSE initiatives into business operations.•Provide technical & administrative support to the Safety department.•Take immediate action on any imminent danger situations.•Ensure prompt and adequate treatment for injured employees.•Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure employee and Company compliance with established standards; provide corrective action as needed.•Provide guidance and support to ensure that all employees are adequately trained in safety protocols and procedures.•Review JSAs, accident & incident reports, identify trends and provide guidance as needed.•Ensure timely accident, incident and near-miss investigations; identify root causes, analyze trends, develop strategies and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Provide reports to applicable parties as needed.•Assess, develop and communicate HSE goals, achievements and initiatives effectively across the organization through reports, presentations, and training sessions.•Foster a culture of safety responsibility throughout the organization; encourage active participation and engagement from all employees.•Participate in networking & continuous education events, meetings, conferences and other related events to bring continued knowledge to the Company as needed.•Manage safety related legal issues, including the mitigation and administration of claims; represent the Company in any legal hearings regarding accidents and injuries.•Provide confidential handling of employee and Company records.•Other duties as assigned.•Periodic travel may be required.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE•Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety•Board Certificated Safety Professional (CSP)•Minimum of 10 years occupational health & safety leadership roles in a related environmentSKILLS & ABILITIES•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.•Fluent in English and Spanish•Comprehensive knowledge of applicable OSHA & other regulatory requirements, standards and best practices.•Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.•Ability to conduct training.•Strong leadership, oral & written communication, and interpersonal skills.•Proven track record of successfully implementing and managing HSE programs.FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTSThis position requires constant (70-100%) use of hands to finger, hearing (listening) and observing (vision), handeye coordination, walking, sitting and requires occasional (40-69%) lifting up to 25lbs, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, feeling and sitting.
