Job Description:

The Commercial Roofing Estimator will provide estimating services and oversee activities for large-scale roofing projects. Your duties may include gathering drawings and specifications, attending meetings, reviewing historical data, conducting roof surveys, making labor and material calculations, tracking contracts, preparing bid packages, and providing technical support throughout the project. Responsibilities of the Commercial Roofing Estimator include:Attend all pre-bid meetings required for projects assignedAnalyze and comprehend project manuals, specifications, plans, addendums, and other project bid documentsPrepare accurate takeoffs, estimates, and bill of materials based upon project bid documents. Experience in Estimating Edge or Acculynx is a plus.Conduct reviews of estimates with project management team and President for final approvalPrepare bids, proposals, and quotations based upon estimatesMaintain records in Company CRM database of Customers, Contacts, Project, and Communications.Experience in FollowUp CRM is a plus. Prepare project records upon receipt of contract including bill of materials, scope of work, budget for accounting entry, summary of quotes, etc.Prepare and deliver submittal documents as required by the projectPrepare value engineering alternatives in consultation with President and project management team.Assist project management team in preparation and delivery of project change orders as necessarySurvey and inspect existing roofs as required for projects that are not new constructionLearn how to estimate the direct and indirect costs for the recommended scopes of workDeliver and present proposals to prospects and customers in a timely manner.SkillsQualifications of the Commercial Roofing Estimator include:Bachelor's or associate degree with a focus in Business, Sales, Communications, Marketing, or Construction is preferredMinimum three (3) years of commercial construction estimating experience.Develop and maintain strong client and vendor relationshipsProficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe AcrobatExcellent written & oral communication, including listeningAbility to be a team player and work in a fast-paced team environment.Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlinesAbility to adapt to change and unforeseen issues, while maintaining professionalismWorking with authorities that have jurisdictions (building permits)Desire and interest in a challenging and rewarding career in the construction industry with a growing company.Requirements of the Commercial Roofing Estimator include:Must have a valid driver's licenseMust be able to safely climb ladders and work at heights (fall protection and safety equipment providedMust be able to lift 40 poundsTrustworthy and ethical values and behavior
