Job Description:

Covington Civil and Environmental, LLC is currently seeking a Civil or Environmental Project Engineer. As a member of our team, responsibilities you will play a crucial role in supporting the planning, execution, and completion of projects. Working under the supervision of a Senior Engineer, you will assist in coordinating various aspects of project initiatives. This includes plan reviews, utility design, design work for our municipal and private engineering projects, and various other engineering related responsibilities. Benefits include flexible hours, medical, vision and dental insurance, 401(k).Responsibilities include: Work closely with various engineering and environmental staff to meet the engineering design needs of our clients.Research and compile publicly available data (imagery, topography, parcel, existing utilities, etc.) and convert into CADD compatible files.Assist with preparing conceptual plans and figures for proposals, reports andor presentations.Assist with survey data review to identify missing information or inconsistent data. Format survey data in accordance with provided designdrafting standards.Assist with preparing design plans, profiles, sections and details for permitting, construction and as-built drawing sets as directed by the project engineer.Assist with preparing contract documents including technical specifications and cost estimates.Work with cross-functional teams, CADD, and other technicians in executing project work.Review of pay applications during construction for verification of completed work. Periodic field work to include verification of surveys and construction inspections.Other job duties as assigned.The following qualifications are required to be effective in this role:Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.Minimum 1-3 years experience working with municipal and private clients.Experience with project execution including planning, permitting, design and construction oversight.Experience in water and sewer utilities, drainage, roadways, dredging and marine are preferred.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Experience with AutoCAD is preferred.Capable of working independently and effectively with a team.Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced and regularly changing environment.Must be proficient in Excel and Word.Candidate should be licensed in Mississippi or have the ability to be licensed. Covington Civil and Environmental, LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
