Job Description:

We are working with a Southern California Plaintiffs' Personal Injury Law Firm seeking an ambitious associate attorney with two to five (2 to 5) years of experience. This growing entrepreneurial firm offers its attorneys a great deal of autonomy, along with career advancement opportunities. Successful candidates should have a JD from a respected law school, a California bar license, and a keen passion for obtaining justice for people harmed through no fault of their own. The firm is looking for a talented attorney willing to work hard to get the best result for clients. Writing and research skills are critically important; a writing sample will be required of each candidate, along with a resume. The firm has a large group of cases and needs a take-charge, aggressive, self-motivated attorney to move the cases from beginning to end. This position will not be micro-managed. The attorney will be required to focus on discovery, motion practice, depositions, and other nuts-and-bolts litigation tasks typical of a firm that takes cases to trial. Job DescriptionPlans case development by studying case information and speaking with the client. Researches law, utilizing precedent and reasoning.Persuasively writes motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.Manages cases by monitoring schedules, expediting requirements, and obtaining and forwarding information.Helps clients by initiating and maintaining contact, preparing clients to answer discovery, and keeping clients informed of case status.Prepares cases for trial and hearings by organizing evidence and exhibits, taking notes, scheduling witnesses, and engaging in dialogue and discussions.Consistently exhibits strong writing and legal analysis skills.Appears in court, conducts and defends depositions, including fact and expert witness depositions; drafts pleadings; and manages all discovery tasks, including issuing and answering discovery.Presents plaintiffs for deposition.Maintains knowledge of local, state, and federal statutes and applicable laws.Works well with supporting pensationSalary: $150,000 to $240,000 or more (depending upon experience)Percentage of firm fees on top of base salaryCivil Litigation Attorney QualificationsBachelor's degree with a law degree from an accredited law schoolAt least two (2) years of litigation experience, preferably with at least one (1) year in a plaintiffs' firmFirm represents injured victims.
