Job Description:

Position Summary:Develops, implements, and maintains a commodity inventory strategy that supports a company's supply chain. Evaluates market conditions in order to maintain inventory levels and control costs. Evaluates and recommends vendors. Manages ongoing relationships with suppliers.Position Responsibilities:Develop a commodity technology roadmap aligning business requirements with supplier capabilitiesBe responsible for AVL for commodity managing supplier selection, qualification and price negotiationManage all aspects of new supplier bring-up including database management in an ERP systemsEnsure a competitive sourcing environment leading to continuous improvement in quality, cost, service and technologyWork closely with Lead Commodity Manager to collaborate with Engineering to influence technical design decisions to meet expectations, technical capabilities, and business objectivesInterface with Planning and Program Management to assess current and future sourcing requirementsHelp drive quarterly executive business reviews of strategic sourcing plan that defines, among other things, market and business analysis, product roadmaps, supplier capabilities and annual quarterly strategic business objectivesMaintain expertiseknowledge of market trends including rigorous analysis of market drivers, cost structures, technical improvements and competitive landscapeTravel periodically to supplier's manufacturing sitesSupport our OEM supplier initiatives including annual cost reductions, VMIJIT, lead-time reductions and favorable payment terms.Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:Ability to manage cross functional teams Knowledge of raw materials - resins, metals (tooling) and cost drivers associated with them Project or Program management skills Competencies:Customer Mindset: Exceptional customer experience is primary focus while performing job duties.
