The Carlisle Group has been retained to find a Spanish Teacher for a Christian School located in the greater Harrisburg area. This school district has two schools. They have approximately 920 students, 120 employees, and have 2,235 graduates. The students who attend this school represent over 100 churches.The staff at this school district are made up of a community of believers that serve to further the school district's mission of partnering with families to provide Christ-centered education that sharpens minds, deepens faith, and develops gifts. Whether you are a teacher, administrator, or staff member, we are all working together to support our students' education and positively impact their walk with Christ.Job Summary:As a High School Spanish Teacher, you will play a crucial role in the academic development of middle and high school students. Your responsibilities include designing and delivering engaging Spanish language lessons, fostering a love for the Spanish language and Hispanic culture, equipping students with language proficiency, and fostering the physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual growth of the student.Qualifications & Desired Attributes:Professes a strong Christian faith in Jesus Christ and demonstrates regular attendance at a Bible-believing church aligned with the Statement of Faith.Agrees with and upholds the principles outlined in Articles II, III, and XII, section 1 of the school's Constitution.Holds a bachelor's degree in education, Spanish, or a related field.Exhibits a clear commitment to Christian Education and a wholehearted embrace of the school district's vision.Demonstrates prior classroom experience as a teacher.Self-motivated, dynamic, well-organized, and adaptable individual with a genuine desire to connect with, nurture, and minister to children.Proficient in educational best practices and effective teaching methods, with the ability to engage and build trust and rapport with the learners.Cultivates healthy and positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and school administration.Willingness to participate in professional development and training as required.Key Responsibilities:Curriculum Development:Develop and deliver comprehensive Spanish lesson plans and teaching materials that align with language curriculum standards.Customize instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within middle and high school tegrate cultural elements into language instruction to enhance students' understanding of Hispanic culture. Classroom Management:Establish and maintain an inclusive and respectful classroom environment conducive to language learning.Implement effective behavior management strategies that promote positive classroom conduct.Create opportunities for students to engage in authentic language and cultural experiences.Language Proficiency:Foster an environment that promotes language acquisition, fluency, and cultural competence.Encourage students to communicate in Spanish through discussions, presentations, and projects.Utilize technology and multimedia resources to enhance language instruction.Assessment and Progress Monitoring:Regularly assess students' language proficiency and cultural understanding using various evaluation methods, including exams, projects, and class participation.Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate results to parents and guardians.Collaborate with colleagues and school administrators to review and analyze student data.Cultural Appreciation:Promote an appreciation for Hispanic culture, history, and customs within the Spanish language anize cultural activities, events, and guest speakers to provide students with a well-rounded cultural experience.Encourage students to embrace cultural diversity and develop a global perspective.Professional Development:The employee needs to communicate verbally and listen regularly.The ability to stand, sit, and move around the classroom and laboratory for extended periods.Lifting, bending, and carrying laboratory materials and supplies.Effective communication, both verbal and written.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in education, Spanish, or a related field.Appropriate state teaching certification or licensure.Proficiency in the Spanish language, with native or near-native fluency preferred.Previous experience in teaching middle or high school students, with a focus on language education preferred.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Dedication to creating an intellectually stimulating and inclusive learning environment.Proficiency in educational technology for instructional purposes.Classroom management skills and effective behavior intervention mitment to ongoing professional development in language education.Physical Requirements:The employee needs to communicate verbally and listen regularly.The ability to stand, sit, and move around the classroom for extended periods.Lifting, bending, and carrying classroom materials and supplies.Effective communication, both verbal and written.
