Job Description:

We are seeking an initiative-taking, creative, and curious scientist to join our growing preclinical pharmacology team. The ideal candidate will have solid molecular pharmacology background related to cancer or other diseases, demonstrated experience in studying mechanisms involved in pathologies, drug mechanism of action, proficient in laboratory skills utilizing a variety of molecular technologies to study physiological processes at cellular and molecular level, and a strong ability to design experiments, employ new technologies, analyze, and interpret complex data sets. Applicants with experience in small-molecule drug discovery is a plus. The candidate should enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary team comprised of medicinal chemists, enzymologists, cell and chemical biologists, pharmacologists and DMPK experts working on the development of novel therapeutics.The ideal candidate for this role will have demonstrated success in these responsibilities:Designing and implementing translational experiments involving in vitro, ex-vivo and in vivo studies in collaboration with others including preclinical pharmacologists, biomarker scientists and biologists.Maintaining progressive knowledge of technologies related to studying molecular and cellular processes in the laboratory setting to support efficacy and pharmacology studies.Performing hands-on experiments, generating, and analyzing data and presenting data to broad internal and external audiences as appropriate.Becoming the in-house expert developing and implementing biomarker methods utilizing a variety of molecular (DNA, RNA), protein (ELISA, MSD, or other related technologies), flow cytometry-based methods.Collaborating with other scientists in the team to devise appropriate studies to answer key questions, implementing hands-on experiments.Collaborating to support the advancement of compounds through in vitro and in vivo studies to advance development candidates and supporting IND-enabling studies.The ideal candidate for this role will have the following qualifications:Ph.D. degree in molecular pharmacology or molecular cell biology or related field with 5 years of relevant industry experience or a postdoc and 2-3 years of industry experience.Strong track record of achievement in designing and conducting complex in vitro, ex-vivo studies (utilizing human samples), supporting preclinicalclinical studies, implementing corporating metabolic imaging studies (e.g., PETSPECT, MRIMRS) into preclinical and clinical programs.Familiarity with evolving regulatory guidelines related to measurement of biomarkers in support drug development is a plus.Proven track record of scientific contributions including peer reviewed publications, patents and presentations is dependent thinking and the ability to effectively collaborate in a highly matrixed environment is required.Excellent oral and written communication skills, including preparation of presentations, are required.About UsKojin Therapeutics, Inc. is harnessing groundbreaking discoveries in cell-state and ferroptosis biology to develop first-in-class, oral treatments for use in patients with various forms of cancer, as well as cardiovascular, immunologic, hepatic, and degenerative diseases.
