Job Description:

The ideal candidates will have a deep understanding of organic reaction mechanisms, proficient organic chemistry lab skills, and a strong ability to design synthetic routes to complex molecules. Applicants with experience in small-molecule drug discovery will be given priority. The candidates should enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary team comprised of medicinal chemists, enzymologists, molecular, cell, and chemical biologists, pharmacologists and DMPK experts working on the development of novel therapeutics.The best candidates for this role will have demonstrated success in these responsibilities:Designing and implementing clear synthetic strategies towards complex molecules using innovative synthetic methodologies.Maintaining high efficiency in the laboratory setting to produce target molecules for SAR development.Implementing multiple parameter optimization strategy to advance SAR by applying medicinal chemistry knowledge and understanding of ADME, pharmacokinetics, optimal physicochemical properties, and AIML prediction tools.Collaborating with structure-based design group to influence the rational design of new molecules.Effectively communicating medicinal chemistry strategies, innovative ideas, and biological results in departmental and project meetings.Collaboratively supporting the advancement of compounds through in vitro and in vivo studies to identify development candidates.The best candidates for this role will have the following qualifications:Ph.D. degree in organic or medicinal chemistry required, postdoc andor 1-3 years of industrial experience preferred. A MS degree in organicmedicinal Chemistry and a minimum of 8 years of experience will be considered.Experience in NMR spectroscopy, x-ray crystallography, or cryo-EM would be a plusStrong track record of achievement in the synthesis of complex molecules andor synthetic methodology development, with deep knowledge of modern synthetic & analytical techniques.Proven track record of scientific contributions including peer reviewed publications, patents, and dependent thinking and the ability to effectively collaborate in a highly matrixed environment.Excellent oral and written communication skills, including preparation of presentations.About UsKojin Therapeutics, Inc. is harnessing groundbreaking discoveries in cell-state and ferroptosis biology to develop first-in-class, oral treatments for use in patients with various forms of cancer, as well as cardiovascular, immunologic, hepatic, and degenerative diseases.
