Job Description:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEquipment ManagementExamines and troubleshoot extruder when an issue has occurredMaintains extruders by cleaning, lubricating, or adjusting parts, equipment, or machineryDisassembles machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairsReassembles equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairsBuilds necessary parts for all company related machinery by collaborating with coworkers on welding, fabricating, and CNC machiningRepairs or replaces malfunctioning components in the organizations machinery to ensure qualityWorks closely with Team Leads and Production Supervisors to assess current malfunction in the extruderAdjusts or align machine parts when necessaryObserves organization machinery to detect which individual piece is malfunctioningOperates the forklift or sky jack to move machinery from Production to Technical ServicesUses a variety of power and hand tools to perform the job functionsComplete required training for new software and operationsBe able to perform basic repairs on all company related machinery when coworkers are unavailable absentTeam CommitmentSupervises the mechanical apprenticeship program by developing and implementing the curriculum for the apprentice to learn basic maintenance and minor repairs on TT equipmentMaintain a work safe environmentAbility to work independently and in a teamPreform other duties as assignedAttends pre-shift meetingEnsures the Technical Services Department is clean and free of debris using the LEAN method to comply with company safety regulationsRecords parts or materials used and order or requisition new parts or materials, as necessaryReads and interprets safety rules, parts schematics, operating instructions, and work ordersEducationalHigh school diploma or equivalent GEDBasic understanding of mechanical and electrical processesFormal mechanical and electrical educationOperation of standard manufacturing tools found in maintenance departmentsOperation of manufacturing tools related to the punch pressBore GaugeMicrometerCaliper Technical CompetenciesBasic computer skills, used for:Ordering parts - various systemsLocating digital schematics - various systemsIntermediate computer skills - email, conduct online research, and creating and updating documents in Word and Excel CNC software - AutocadBasic pallet labeler Basic Quality assurance files - DWG true view Personal protective equipment (PPE) knowledge and usage Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
