JOB SUMMARY:The Network Engineer (NE) is responsible for supporting network infrastructures utilized by PTP's managed services clients. The NE will be responsible for configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining client infrastructures to ensure performance, reliability, and security. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of network architectures, routing protocols, and switching technologies. This role requires strong technical expertise in Cisco and Palo Alto technologies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.RESPONSIBILITIES:  Communicate clearly and concisely with client stakeholders, contacts, and end-users.Troubleshoot network and security issues, identify root cause and implement timely resolutions to minimize downtime and service disruption.Implement and support scalable network designs, considering redundancy, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.Configure and optimize routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP to ensure efficient traffic routing and network convergence.Implement advanced switching technologies, including VLANs, VTP, EtherChannel, and Spanning Tree Protocols (STP).Deploy, and manage routing and switching solutions to meet current and future business requirements incorporating Cisco and Meraki devices.Configure, troubleshoot and optimize firewall policies, including application-based rules, URL filtering, and threat prevention including Palo Alto, Cisco, and Meraki devices.Consult with clients to operate and optimize Network and Firewall infrastructures.Develop and maintain both network and security documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures documents.Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCECORE KNOWLEDGE:Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Teamwork and mentorship.Attention to detail.Time management.Multi-tasking.Exceptional communication, verbal and in writing.Adaptability and flexibility within tasks and timelines.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.Willingness to learn new technologies as required to support client infrastructures.Proficiency in using remote access tools and network monitoring systems.WORK SCHEDULE:The primary schedule is Monday through Friday, with frequent periods of extended hours to ensure business activities are met.Onsite at the client site as neededrequired.QUALIFICATIONS:Must be a College Graduate or a combination of education andor commensurate experience.Must have 5+ years of experience in implementing and supporting Cisco and Palo Alto network infrastructures.Must have 5+ years troubleshooting network connectivity, performance, and security issues.Must be proficient in network protocols and technologies such as TCPIP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VTP, MPLS, VPNs, etc.MUST have Expertise in network security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detectionprevention systems, and VPNs.Preferred Technologies and Certifications:Must hold active CCNP, Meraki Solutions Specialist, or CMNA certification.Must hold active Palo Alto Network certifications (e.g., PCNSA, PCNSE).
