Job Description:

The Sourcing Manager has an understanding of quality as it relates to evaluating vendor viability, production line setup, and the products themselves to meet company requirements. They work collaboratively with the quality department as well as the marketing and pricing teams to hit targets and deadlines. Specific hardline product experience, product development, sourcing, and manufacturing is necessary to be successful in this role. This role requires dynamic involvement with multiple groups throughout our business, provides a chance to make a big impact, and offers opportunities for career growth.Duties and ResponsibilitiesBuild a strategic vendor base for prioritized HFT categoriesAssess a vendor's ability to ship on time, provide quality goods, and to produce their products at costs that meet the economic requirements of HFTFind, evaluate, and select vendors to supply products that are sold in HFT's retail storesDrive product line transitions from sourcing of viable vendors through product costing, sampling, and quality testing in our own laboratoriesEstablish second sources that allow HFT to provide its customers with the same product from different vendors, while maintaining form, function, specifications, and cost. The product differences from second sources should be indiscernible to our customers.Identify new products that would enhance the HFT mixProvide competitor insight though discussions with vendors and first-hand knowledgeComplete all sourcing activities in a timely manner and driving efficiencies whenever possible40-60% overseas travelCollaborate closely with merchandising and packaging, quality and manuals, and sourcing teams on a daily basis to serve enterprise objectives and understand total impact of any actionsScope (Required)Staff supervision and development "” YesOrganization Scope: Global Sourcing- US, Shanghai and TaiwanLocation"” RemoteRequirements :Education and ExperienceMinimum of 6+ years of relevant and progressive buying experience in retail industry or 5 years' experience in project management andor new product development role.Bachelor's Degree preferredExperience in a senior product management or purchasing role with a demonstrated ability to drive product implementation and strategyExperience with a fast-paced, high volume, efficient organization with emphasis on customer service and delivering resultsExperience in B2C companies with major distribution and overseas operations would be highly desirableSkillsAbility to research products and trends and analyze products and product specifications in supplier proposalsConsiderable attention to detail and sense of urgency to ensure value-added content in the purchasing process and confidence in the continuity of supplySourcing merchandise through new and existing vendors, trips and tradeshowsAbility generate and analyze sales reports and dataMust be proficient with computers and automated process and systemsIdeal candidate must be a self-starter, results driven and proven leadership abilityStrong sense of urgency, collaborative team style, and ability to quickly adapt to changes in prioritiesPhysical RequirementsGeneral office environment requiring ability to:Stand, walk, sit for extended periods of timeSpeak and listen to others in person and over the phoneUse keyboard and read from computer screen and reportsLift up to 15 lbs.The anticipated salary range for this position is $114,400 - $171,700 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 236 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays).
