Accounting Operations Associate - Investor Relations and Operations Team Mission BioCapital is a leading biotech venture firm investing in a unique global entrepreneurial ecosystem. In this role, you will support the Finance, Operations and Investor Relations teams and utilize strong organizational skills and attention to detail to strengthen our team. The position will be based in Cambridge, MA. This is a hybrid role, but the expectation is that you will be on-site at least 3 days per week. Job Description Assist with Accounting and cash management tasks for our venture capital fundso Analyze and reconcile bank accounts for all managed entitieso Manage Accounts Payable for separate entities using accounting softwareo Responsible for vendor management, entering bills and allocation of expenses to managed entitieso Assist with Accounts Receivable for amounts invoiced to managed entities or portfolio companieso Post journal entries for accrued expenses and record cash transactionso Perform review of capital call notices, distribution notices and quarterly capital account statements for managed fund entitieso Track capital calls and distributions for managed fund entitieso Record and reconcile credit card expenses in accounting softwareo Help with review of monthly legal fees and allocation of expense to managed entity or portfolio companyo Prepare travel, annual investor meeting and other expense allocation scheduleso Help with accounting of portfolio entitieso Assist with preparation of financial statementso Help with ad-hoc financeaccounting requests Assist with daily andor periodic Operations and Compliance taskso Maintainupdate Limited Partner contacts in spreadsheets and databases including our CRM DealCloudo Assist CCO with periodic staff Compliance requirements· Assist with event planning and logistics including, but not limited to:o MBC's annual off-site meeting with investorso New events associated with programming to support founders (Platinum Program demo day, etc.)· Assist on ad-hoc projects as needed Key Qualifications for an Applicant:1-2 years previous Accounting experience in a corporate setting is requiredA Bachelor's degree in Accounting or BusinessStrong proficiency with Microsoft Suite and QuickBooks Personal Attributes: Excellent oral and written communication skillsStrong analytical skillsAttention to accuracy and detailIntellectual curiosity, motivated by the opportunity to learnTeam player with flexible nature and willingness to support colleaguesSelf-starter with ability to work both independently and collaborativelyPositive attitude and strong work ethic, with an eagerness to learn and tackle new challenges Willingness to receive informal and formal feedback (and adjust as needed)Interest in the financial services industry and private equity The Benefits· 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer match.· At least 12 paid holidays per year and unlimited PTO.· Generous family and parental leave· Health insurance plan through Aetna; 100% company-paid premium for employees and 80% for their dependents; flex-spending and health savings accounts available· Other wellness benefits such as One Medical membership and subsidized wellness membershipsWe believe in building balanced teams.
