Job Description:

BASIC FUNCTION: Troubleshoot daily process problems to ensure that production schedule is met and that process equipment operates in an optimum manner. Analyze production errors and implement solutions to avoid repetition of problems.RESPONSIBILITIES:Coordinate with Quality Control to ensure that the process is properly controlled and inspected.Thoroughly understand the entire process and control scheme for the plant. Use knowledge to effectively troubleshoot and correct problems in daily processing. Manage production operations to assure the processing equipment is operating in an optimal manner. Reduce process variation through the use of statistical process control.Continually monitor the efficiency of the process, supervise the effort to maintain the processing equipment at optimal effectiveness, report the status on a regular basisMaintain continuous contact with the maintenance group to monitorupdate the status of vestigate and resolve work-in-progress problems either individually or by calling in other departments (i.e. mechanical, electrical, etc.)Utilize historical quality data to research reasons for all "Out-of-Control" quality test results and create explanations. Analyze historical data to identify production error patterns and possible causes. Resolve problems or refer to other departments as necessary.Implement improvements andor modifications for operations, equipment utilization, and related matters to optimize production efficiency.Coordinate and Monitor Process Improvement Testing and Document Results.Take an active role on project teams designed to eliminate or reduce production-related problems such as: retains, bacterial contamination, railcar loading inefficiencies, etc.Coordinate on-going training program for Production Department: determine need for training, develop training materials or arrange for trainer, schedule sessions, track attendance.Actively participate in the Quality System, internal audits, documentation, and reporting.Assist Engineering on design and implementation of equipment.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering. Five or more years' experience in the minerals processingmanufacturing industry is preferred but not required (or equivalent combination of education and experience).Strong communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with production team and all plant stakeholders.Ability to build strong teams, empower direct reports and create a positive work environment.Highly proficient with MS 365 suite: Excel, Word, PPT etc. Position may require extended work hours, calls at night with production team and weekend work.Must possess current US employment authorization; sponsorship not available for this position."‹"‹EOE"‹
