General duties that apply to all personnel or across certain labor categories are given below.Duties- Specific:5.5.3.2.3.1. Perform assessments, evaluations, consultations, differential diagnosis, and treatment for all disorders defined by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (current edition) published by the American Psychiatric Association.5.5.3.2.3.2. Work closely with clinical staff andor base personnel regarding patient awareness of mental health wellness programs (addictions, stress management, group therapies).5.5.3.2.3.3. Provide therapeutic treatment and evaluation of patients in the Family Advocacy Program dealing with domestic violence, physical and sexual abuse, as requested.5.5.3.2.3.4. Provide patient consultations requested by NHCP staff health care providers within guidelines established by the NHCP.5.5.3.2.3.5. Provide therapeutic treatment (as applicable) and evaluation of patients with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Combat Stress Disorders and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Conduct collaborative evaluations to facilitate treatment planning for TBI patients.5.5.3.2.3.6. Provide input to medical board determinations and administrative separations as requested.5.5.3.2.3.7. Conduct clinical staff education when requested to enhance knowledge, understanding, and awareness of post-traumatic stress disorder, and treatment options for the management of post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury and other combat related disorders.ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:HCW Duties (5.1 Task 1): The duties for the HCW are as follows:Coordinate appropriate referrals to community and other Government agencies for dependently assess the psychosocial functioning and needs of patients and their family members and formulate and implement a treatment plan, identifying the patient's problems, strengths, weaknesses, coping skills and assistance needed, in collaboration with the patient, family and interdisciplinary treatment dependently conduct psychosocial assessments and provide psychosocial treatment to a wide variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, educational, and other diverse backgrounds.Use medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and treatment procedures. This includes acute, chronic, and traumatic illnessesinjuries, common medications and their effectsside effects, and medical terminology.Implement treatment modalities in working with individuals, families and groups who are experiencing a variety of psychiatric, medical, and social problems to achieve treatment dependently provide counseling andor psychotherapy services to individuals, groups, couples, and families. Must practice within the bounds of the license or certification.Provide consultation services to other staff about the psychosocial needs of patients and the impact of psychosocial problems on health care and compliance with treatment.Participate in professional peer review case conferences, research studies, or other organizations required at the MTF.QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS:Legal Authorization to Work in the United States: HCWs performing under this contract must be a U.S. Citizen as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, U. S. Citizenship, and Immigration Services, either a noncitizen national of the United State, lawful permanent resident of the United States, or alien authorized to work in the United States.Labor Category: Social Worker (Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton)*Includes, but not limited to: Licensed Clinical Social WorkerHCW Qualifications:Degree: Master's degree in Social Work (MSW).Education: Graduate from a School of Social Work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers or American Heart Association or American Red Cross Healthcare Provider Course. HCWs who do not hold current certification must acquire certification prior to initiating contract performance.
