Job Description:

Reporting to the Chief of Staff and Programming, the Communications Coordinator's responsibilities include but are not limited to implementing marketing and public relations campaigns, handling rights and reproductions requests, overseeing content on the gallery's website and social media channels, and liaising with press and external consultants. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Implement marketing and public relations campaigns for announcements, exhibitions, art fairs, and artists' projects Upload content for gallery social media channelsDesign and schedule marketing e-blasts Format and distribute press releases and images in collaboration with Research team and external public relations consultantsMaintain gallery website, updating content, press, and e-commerce inventory as neededCoordinate gallery programming and special events Manage external media requests, including high-res image requests and interview opportunities for gallery principlesLiaise with staff, gallery principles, artist studios, consultants, and external organizations for approvals on all communications collateralLiaise with artistsartist studiosestates and staff on media inquiries for third-party exhibitions and projectsServe as primary point of contact for all rights and reproduction requestsBuild and maintain press kits and press links for PR and journalists, ensuring all captions, copyrights, and credit lines are includedMonitor all mentions of the gallery and its artists for weekly press updatesManage all gallery publication subscriptionsDevelop and maintain press mailing listServe as liaison for venue rentalsPERSONAL QUALITIES:Superior communication and writing skills;Highly organized and efficient in time management;Up to date familiarity with the global media landscape;Passionate about the art world and driven to raise the profile of the gallery;Meticulous and detail-oriented approach to all tasks in a fast paced environment;Excellent interpersonal skills;Excellent technical skills;Must be available for work around installations, openings, and other events as needed, which may take place outside of normal gallery hours (9:30am - 6pm).EXPERIENCE:Proficient with Microsoft Office, iOS, Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, and Photoshop;Experience with Asana and social scheduling tools a plusExperience managing marketing channels including social media, email marketing, and websitesFamiliarity with marketing metrics and data analysis toolsAbility to work independently and collaboratively across a global team.BA in Marketing or Communications preferredPOSITION TYPE:Full-TimeRegularNon-ExemptSalaried position with overtime.
