Here are the responsibilities of the position:Management and LeadershipOversee a growing team of cooks and porters serving 2,300+ lunches per week.Hire kitchen team members.Develop and implement our onboarding process. Set new team members up for success.Work closely with all kitchen team members and provide positive and constructive feedback daily.Manage our team schedule and labor cost.Hold daily pre-shift meetings with our team to teach, communicate updates, and listen to new ideas, concerns, and frustrations.Build relationships with our team members with one-on-one meetings.Understand the unique abilities and aspirations of our team members and help guide their growth.Model our core values daily: Fanatical attention to detail, good vibes only, act with purpose, take responsibility, and 1% better every day.Systems and Kitchen SetupEnsure that all meals, every day are prepared and packed correctly and on time.Experiment and determine the most effective, simple, and efficient way to accomplish kitchen tasks.Create and manage using checklists that capture our daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.Determine the optimal way to orient and organize our kitchen and storage space.Talk with our team members to solicit their input on how to improve kitchen processes.Menu DevelopmentCollaborate with our founder to develop new menu items.Refine existing menu items to improve the guest experience and simplify execution.Sanitization, Cleanliness, Safety, and MaintenanceKeep our facility clean, safe, and sanitary.Ensure that all team members understand and follow ServeSafe practices.Train our team to safely operate all kitchen equipment and tools.Vendors and OrderingPlace orders for food and paper goods.Build and maintain relationships with our food vendors.Take end-of-period inventory.Day to DayThis is a working chef position and you'll actively complete tasks alongside our kitchen team members.Here are the approximate hours of the position: Friday is an office day, Saturday (8 am to 5 pm), Sunday (9 am to 6:30 pm), Monday (7:30 am to 6:30 pm), Tuesday (7:30 am to 6:30 pm), off Wednesday and Thursday.
