Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Detailer to join our team. Under general supervision perform simple to complex detail drafting functions utilizing a computer-aided drafting system. Prepare drawings showing all necessary views and dimensions using sketches, marked-up prints, assembly drawings, lay-outs or verbal information. Create and maintain bills of material, as well as other critical engineering elements in the material resource planning system (MRP). If you have a passion for detail-oriented work and enjoy working in a collaborative environment, we would love to hear from you.Key Responsibilities:Creates mechanical packaging three-dimensional solid models and two-dimensional drawings for multiple product lines. This documentation includes but is not limited to component drawings, assembly drawings, exploded views, schematics, toolfixture drawings, customer drawings and Quality System documents. primarily using SolidWorks and DraftSight.Modifies drawings by studying red-lines or change requests. Makes any necessary changes to existing models or drawings per the Engineering Change Order (ECO) procedure.Processes and coordinates Engineering Change Orders in a timely mannerTransforms initial rough product designs or sketches into working models and documents.Checks dimensions of parts, material types, component fit ups, and assembly completenessReviews engineering drawing and designs to ensure adherence to established drafting specifications and standards. Work with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECNECR documentation.Properly implements drawing changes and creates drawings in accordance with applicable ASME Y14 standardsSupports the Document Control Function by vaulting documents into the PLM system.Create component layout, wiring and power distribution drawings.Create assembly drawings, fabrication drawings and wiring diagrams.Work with Engineering, Procurement and Manufacturing to accurately create and maintain Bills of Materials.Other duties as assignedSkills and Qualifications:Strong knowledge of SolidWorks - Be able to navigate the software UI and make changes to models and drawings as needed.Strong knowledge of SolidWorks in a PDM environment. Experience with PDM workflows, transitions, etc.Working knowledge of DraftSight - Be able to navigate the software UI and make minor changes to files as neededStrong Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 and other drafting standardsWorking knowledge of basic GD&T standardsExperience in working manufacturing environment.Sharp attention to detail is a must.Ability to uselearn Office software and ERP software.Ability and willingness to work with multiple departments including Accounting, Materials, Purchasing, Sales, Service and Manufacturing.Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsMust be a team player, but also capable or working independently.Ability to work on a variety of tasks with limited supervision.Education:AS degree in drafting, design, or equivalent experience2 to 4 years of drafting or Mechanical design experience is requiredProficient in 3D Modeling and Drafting software (SolidWorks, DraftSight)2-4+ years' experience in development, design, documentation, support and troubleshooting of automated machines (i.e., concept to final product).
