Job Description:

SUMMARY:This position is responsible for designing and developing innovative and efficient solutions for aerospace systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration and performance of these components in aerospace applications.RESPONSIBILITIESDesign and develop mechanical, fuel, pneumatic, and hydraulic aerospace components including but not limited to valves, filters, manifolds, and related componentsConduct thorough research and analysis to understand the requirements and constraints of the aerospace systemsSupport customer facing interface as needed to support opportunity development through initial production.Create detailed engineering drawing sand specifications using computer aided design (CAD) softwareCollaborate with manufacturing and productions teams to ensure the manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of the designed components.Perform structural, thermal, and fluids analysis to ensure the components meet the required performance and safety standards required for flight.Conduct feasibility studies and provide technical recommendations for new product development and improvement initiatives.Participate in design reviews and provide technical support to resolve any issues or challenges during the development process.Stay updated with the latest advancements in aerospace technology and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions in component design.Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source and evaluate materials, components, and equipment for the design and manufacturing process.Adhere to industry regulations, quality standards, and best practices through the design and development process.SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Strong in communication skills with suppliers, customers, and internal departmentsKnowledge of Aerospace and Military standardsBlueprint reading, GD&T, Tolerance stack-up analysisUnderstanding of machining and machine shop practicesCAD experience with PROE (preferred) or SolidworksExperience with production assembly and testInterpreting test data for accuracy and validity of conclusionsFollows company standards and proceduresProduct lifecycle management (PLM) using Enovia, TeamCenter, or WindchillHands on design experience in mechanical, electro mechanical and hydraulic componentsBasic understanding of materials and processing specsExperience in hydraulic valves and componentsBasic understanding of hydraulic schematicsUnderstands Fluid flow and has strong mathematical and analytical skillsPrepares proposals for new productsFamiliar with production and test documents, ATP, QTP, QTRExperience creating part and assembly drawings and part listsExperience in scientific analysis of products by performing Engineering calculations and analysis to support Qualification by Similarity, Analysis, and Failure AnalysisBasic understanding of stress analysis and FEAEDUCATION andor EXPERIENCEExperience as technical lead to take project from initial proposal through design, qualification, and production releaseCoordinating with Engineering, Test, Manufacturing, Sales, CustomerExperience reviewing customer specs and extracting performance requirements to create Requirements Matrix and Source Control Drawings for sub componentsFamiliarity with industry standards and regulations, such as FAA regulations and AS9100 quality management system.Familiar with the tests in qualification standards MIL-STD-810 and DO-160Familiar with hydraulics specificationAnalyzes failures during qualification testing and performs RCCAExperience with creating customer documents (SDRL)Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or aerospace Engineering3 - 5 years of experience Aerospace design and manufacturing environmentExperience in Hydraulic and pneumatic components strongly preferred
