Position: Production Supervisor - Off ShiftLocation: Chattanooga, TN - GreenwoodPosition Overview: Production Supervisor directs & coordinates through departmental leaders, activities relative to the production operations. This position is responsible for continuous and efficient production in desired quality and quantity. Ensures objectives are met relative to safety, quality, and delivery.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Understand and assure compliance of all CM Safety & Health practices.Observe work while being performed and stop production on any operations deemed unsafe.Conduct regular Toolbox Safety Meetings with all direct reports to review safety issues and improve safe working conditions.Train all employees on the safe operations of their machines and on selected safety vestigate all incidents and accidents involving direct reports or reporting departments and make recommendations for corrective action. Implement immediate corrective action where itiate and perform evaluations of the manning and physical arrangements of the work station (methodizing) on and existing operations to help assure maximum production.Make work assignments to best utilize the resources of the department heshe is leading.Provide required assistance to allow for observation of test conditions including test runs to be performed safely.Train department personnel to be technically and professionally competent.Assist in the development andor conduct appropriate developmental programs and instructional courses for departmental personnel.Assist the Production Manager in managing labor problems, complaints, resources, etc. exhibiting a high degree of integrity and discretion in dealing with confidential data or information.Participate in fair and consistent problem or complaint resolution and answer suggestions as assigned.Gather information and conduct studies in resolving problems when requested.Provide management support and coordinate department resources to successfully launch new products.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form, i.e. time sheets, production boards. Working knowledge of production machinery operations and capacities. Other duties as assigned by leadership. Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities:Assure compliance within the departments(s) concerning departmental policies and practices.Maintain the quality of standards and level of standards.Where existing standards are no longer suitable to the jobs for which they have been develop, recommend revisions. Make observations of existing conditions and recommendresolve, with appropriate levels of management, the method to be used before standards are developed or revised.Accountable to the Production Manager for the quality of support to the Plant and for adherence to department, plant and company policies and administrative procedures.
