INSTRUCTIONAL COACHTHE POSSIBLE ZONEBOSTON, MAFull Time, ExemptThe Possible Zone (TPZ), a nonprofit organization, seeks a Boston-based Instructional Coach. The ideal candidate is someone who brings adult coaching experience, is passionate about closing the opportunity gap, and has a strong track record of engaging high schoolers in learning opportunities that are culturally responsive, project-based, and competency-based.ABOUT THE POSSIBLE ZONE:The Possible Zone is an after school and school day program that uses entrepreneurship as a framework to close the skills and opportunities gap facing young people with untapped potential.We guide students through a dynamic curriculum, including hands-on work experience and individualized career planning, to develop the personal qualities that predict future professional short, we believe anything is possible!ABOUT THE ROLE:The Instructional Coach will help to support high quality student experiences by building educators' capacity to develop and implement instructional practices that support diverse student learners. Using evidence-based practices, instructional coaches will serve as mentors and thought-partners for a group of educators. They will support their team in developing teaching and learning practices through observation, modeling, and giving feedback. Instructional coaches will also serve lead educators in one class per term to continue developing (and modeling) their teaching skills.Teaching Responsibilities (25%)Serve as a lead educator in one of TPZ's high school classes each term to model for new educator while also gaining a deeper understanding of the curriculum, student experiences, and TPZ's teaching and learning pedagogySupport students in the development of their e-portfolio that documents their progress throughout their experience at TPZEffectively use TPZ's systems (SIS and LMS) to track, monitor, and update student informationCoaching Responsibilities (75%)Conduct onboarding and training for new educators at TPZCoach and support a group of up to 5 educators in effectively engaging learners in TPZ's program including pathways advisory, entrepreneurship, & work-based learningConduct weekly 1:1 supervision meetings with educatorsProvide individualized, class-specific coaching, modeling and feedback to educators that is responsive to the identified needs of studentsCollaborate with TPZ's Evaluation and Learning department to collect, analyze, and share data related to high quality instructional practicesCollaborate with Student Support Department to identify ongoing student needs and use data to inform supervision and support of educatorsPlan, deliver and support professional learning opportunities for TPZ's program teamQualifications:Professional Experience: At least 5 years of experience working with high school students in either classroomsschools or informal settings (for instance, youth development, camp counselor)Instructional approaches: At least 5 years of experience engaging youth from under-resourced communities in ways that are culturally responsive, project-based, and competency-based, with attention to the whole-child, SEL, and identity development, and building a strong culture and communityTeacher Coaching Experience: At Least 2+ years of managing or coaching experience with deep understanding of best practice strategies related to curriculum development and implementation, high quality instruction and supporting diverse student learning experiencesContent knowledge: Experience in at least 2 or more of the following:Project Based LearningCompetency Based LearningCulturally Responsive TeachingWhole-Child DevelopmentDemonstrate entrepreneurial spirit that inspires students to explore passions and dreams while providing the scaffolds or supports to actualize themCommitment to the success of every learner; have a growth mindset and self-awarenessA courageous learner, design-thinker, problem-solver, and ignite these qualities in othersCreate a growth-promoting culture that is brave and safe; effectively manage learning experiencesStrong facilitation; you believe learning is an active process, and support learners in driving their learningCommitment to Diversity, Equity, and InclusionEmbraces change and navigates multi-cultural spaces with openness and awarenessCompensation & Benefits:The Possible Zone offers a robust compensation and benefits package including high-quality health benefits and an employer contribution to your 401(k) plan.$100K - $105K Depending on ExperienceDEI Statement:We believe every member of our team and student body deserves opportunities for growth, success and inclusion.
