Pride Health is hiring a phlebotomist II to support our client's medical facility based in Newport News, VA.This is a 3-and-a-half-month contract opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!Responsibilities:Experience in specimen collection: The individual has experience in various aspects of specimen collection, including blood draws, labeling specimens, and centrifuging them.Adherence to procedures: They adhere to established procedures for collecting, storing, and handling specimens, ensuring accuracy and munication skills: They can clearly and courteously explain the specimen collection process to patients and demonstrate techniques using different types of needles.Documentation and record-keeping: They record maintenance data, update patient information, and ensure accurate matching of laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Qualifications: Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.Minimum of 6 months` work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.High School Diploma or equivalent required.Additional Information: Location: Newport News, VAJob Type: Contract to hire.Schedule: Monday-Friday: 8am-5pmPay Range: $18-$21hour.*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
