Facilities TechnicianDuration: 24+ monthsShift: 2nd (2:30PM -11PM)Days: Tuesday - Saturday (40 hours per week)Very competitive hourly rateHealth Benefits offeredTechnician shall operate, replace, repair and maintain building related mechanical, electrical, control systems, plumbing, air handling units, pumps, heat exchangers, expansion joints, and other building mechanical systems. Technician shall receive and respond to service calls and take immediate action to resolve emergency situations or system breakdowns.qualifications:required mechanical trades or trade school certification in location applicable disciplines e.g. HVAC, electrical, hydraulics, plumbingrequired license for equipment operation in a given municipalityminimum of five (5) years of experience in the operation of building central plant equipment, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, andor electronic systemsUniversal Certification as required for service work OSHA 10 Hour Safety Training Certificationexperience and proven ability to repair building electrical, plumbing and or HVAC auxiliary systems;experience and proven ability to safely secure hydronic and electrical systems for maintenancestrong knowledge of operation of building auxiliary systems such as fire-life safety and stand by emergency generators;familiarity with general building systems such as vertical lift equipment and overhead doorsstrong knowledge of safe work practices and procedures typical for maintenance operationsability to safely climb ladders, lift heavy objects and perform other physically demanding tasksTechnician shall provide Services which include, but are not limited to:efficiently operate central plant systemsoperate building automation systems to provide desired plant output specificationsoperate, replace, repair, and maintain all mechanical, electrical, control systems, air handling units, pumps, motors, heat exchangers, and expansion jointsdrain and "safe off" systems to facilitate repairsperform minor carpentry tasks, replace ceiling tiles, and repair or replace door hardware, locks, panic bars, etc.perform minor electrical tasks including bulb and ballast replacementclean coils in air handling units and convectors to maintain optimum heat exchange;assemble, install, repair, and maintain chilled and hot water systemsoperate and inspect emergency generator and associated componentsrequisition necessary material to complete required repairsPerform routine and preventive maintenance duties including filter changes, lubrication, and checking controls and performance.replace bearings, motors, and dampersinspect mechanical and electrical systems, trace electrical circuits, operate switchgear, record inspections, and write reports to supervisorsmanagementperform any additional related tasks on an as needed basis to maintain the efficient operation for facilityReceive and respond to service calls and provide reports to representative on a daily and weekly basis
