A recognized retail company in California is currently seeking an experienced professional to join their team as their new Director, Infrastructure Engineering. In this role, the Director, Infrastructure Engineering will be responsible for overseeing the operation and strategic planning of the the company's Infrastructure to ensure workplace services, networkcomputestorage, service management and cloud strategy and operations align with the business objectives.Responsibilities:The Director, Infrastructure Engineering will:Evaluate the workplace technologies market, analyze the impact on employee production and regularly evolve roadmaps for these platformsDevelop an understanding of the workplace technologies currently in use and the business use cases that they serveEnsure focus on continuous improvement of collaboration platforms, based on latest market trends, to develop a roadmap for a collaborative scalable organizationDrive a culture of continuous improvement that proactively manages resolution of serious and complex problems, identifying underlying causes and performing corrective action appropriatelyImplement an overarching, rein in emerging technologies, optimize capital and operating costs and provide new and enhanced customer experiences for employees and clients Evaluate current technology capabilities, risks and roadmap against various department and company goalsOversee contract negotiations with IT vendors, contractors, and service providersDevelop business case justifications and costbenefit analyses for IT spending and initiativesManage strategic relationships between internal IT resources, distinct business units, end users, vendors, and partner organizationsManage financial budgets, resources, and relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and business partnersNegotiate and administer vendor and consultant contract and service agreementsConduct regular compliance checks and test operating systemsPerform other duties, as neededQualifications:10+ years of experience working with IT infrastructure strategy & operationsBachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field of studyPrior experience implementingsupporting complex infrastructure functions preferredWorking knowledge of infrastructure architecture, database, cloud and network technologies requiredA strong business acumen and ability to maintain budgetary controlProven and demonstrated leadership, communication, organization, and effective management of technology projectsSolid analytical and problem solving skillsGreat interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Strong attention to detailHighly organizedDesired Skills:Prior experience implementingsupporting complex infrastructure functionsDesired Skills and ExperienceOverview:Our client, a leading global digital sports platform, is seeking a Director of Infrastructure Engineering.
