This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's locations: The Madison Club, set in La Quinta, California.The Madison Club is seeking a Project Architect to join the Development Department. The Project Architect will support the Project Director to assist in the timely and economical completion of quality-driven projects.Key Responsibilities Help coordinate the work team(s) and is responsible for the overall development and implementation of specific architectural projects and site development initiatives. Ensure the quality, accuracy, and professionalism of the instruments of service and the facilitation of the final architectural product. Make recommendations for practical solutions to design-related issues in real-time in the field during construction. Coordinate with ownership and operating staff, consultants, contractors, and public agencies.Assist with scheduling and budgeting for projects. Evaluate consultant, vendor, and contractor proposals and bids.Actively participate in value engineering processes, being mindful of impression and project quality in delivery.Other duties, as assigned and associated with the performance of construction and project management. Qualifications Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Architecture, Licensed Architect (preferred) in the state of California. Minimum 3-5 years of experience working in a professional setting in the design realm. Experience in the project execution stage is highly desired, including familiarity with the construction administration process.Previous work experience with a development firm as an Owner's Representative in the capacity of Project ManagerProject Architect is highly desirable. Proficiency in applicable BIM, CAD, Bluebeam, and Revit software petence in software platforms including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and PDF is desirable. Possesses a basic understanding of horizontal construction processes and interface with vertical construction processes is a plus.Knowledge of California codes and zoning regulations.Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Experience working in an environment with shifting priorities, demands and timelines. Additional Requirements Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members. Must be able to work flexible work hours as needed due to business demands. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
