The Role:We are seeking an LNG Trader to be based in the company's New York headquarters. We are entrepreneurial, fast- moving, and motivated by a desire to change the way that energy and electricity are delivered around the world. We are looking for a motivated, highly experienced individual with shared beliefs and passion to come and help drive the journey.The LNG Trader will be responsible for executing trades, managing risk, and optimizing profitability within the assigned portfolio, leveraging our strategically positioned and significantly expanding LNG Export and Import assets to become one of the key LNG traders in the market. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the oil and gas markets, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of successful trading. What you will do:Formulate and implement trading strategies to optimize profitability, manage risk and ensure alignment with business objectives.Analyze trading performance, P&L statements, and market data to evaluate the effectiveness of trading strategies and identify areas for improvement.Monitor global gas markets to identify trading opportunities and market trends.Support all the activities related to LNG sourcing and trading through long, medium and short-term contracts.Lead negotiations of LNG Sales and Purchase Agreements based on the current and future Project Development Project Timelines.Work in partnership with the Shipping team to optimize cargoes, loading points and terminal capacity to position for best-in-class pricing of LNG acquisitions.Develop an information network with major LNG producers, traders, outside resources and key industry players to provide regular and consistent color on market positioning, movements and trends.Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers and buyers.Develop a strong commercial understanding of NFE's upstream and downstream markets, including entryexit tariffs for gas to enter the system.Manage trading positions and risk exposure effectively.Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance requirements.What you bring:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in trading commodities or freight, preferred in oil and gas or power.Strong understanding of global energy markets, including supply and demand dynamics, pricing mechanisms, and geopolitical factors.Proven track record of successful trading and risk management.Demonstrated history of clear, concise reporting of positions, risks, and P&L movements.Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends.Strong negotiation and communication skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic trading environment.Proficiency in trading platforms and financial software.Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards.
