Great opportunity for recently licensed MSW graduates to gain autonomous experience in practicing clinical skills and overseeing programmingeducation services!On-the-job training is available with a comprehensive orientation phase to give you the tools to succeed in your careerOpportunity to get refine your skills in incorporating biopsychosocial care approach for patients with a cancer diagnosisResponsibilitiesProvide psychosocial evaluation, counseling, and resource referral services to patientsEducate families and caregivers on their involvement in the diagnostictreatment processCreate steps to further interdisciplinary care by documenting the visit summary and care plans, and identifying appropriate resources of clinical care and social support, respectivelyCoordinate interdisciplinary treatment efforts with treatment team members, other services, other providers to maximize quality & effectiveness of careProvide clinical training and supervision to other staff andor students as neededContribute professional expertise to foster a greater understanding of biopsychosocial care approach for patients with a cancer diagnosisQualificationsMaster's degree in Social Work requiredExperience providing direct in-patient clinical service strongly preferredOPWDD experience or training highly desiredMust be a Licensed Social Worker in New York State or eligible for state licensurecertification as clinical social workerOncology Social Worker certification within one year of hireEligible for R number to provide and bill for counseling servicesDemonstrates strong knowledge of best practices in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.Approaches patient care with sensitivity to racial and cultural diversity.Forms and maintains meaningful therapeutic relationships with patients facing chronic or terminal illnesses and their families.
