For three generations, our family-run company has taken great care and pride in bringing only the best tasting, highest quality products to families across America.Who We Are Looking For: We are seeking a skilled Financial Controller to ensure the accuracy of financial data, manage reporting processes, and support strategic financial decision-making. In this role, you will oversee day-to-day Accounting Department operations, maintain internal controls, and drive efficiencies to support company growth. This role reports to the VP of Finance.What You'll Be Doing: Enforce financial policies and procedures to protect assets, maintain internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.Guide financial decisions to maximize profitability and returns on assets.Ensure timely and accurate posting of financial data, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and payroll.Manage accruals, journal entries, and other financial transactions.Validate bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations to maintain accuracy.Review transactions, resolve issues, and create standard operating procedures (SOPs) for consistent posting.Provide accurate and timely financial information to support strategic planning and decision-making processes.Prepare weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports as required.Participate in audits by CPAs and other external entities.Conduct internal audits to test internal controls and accuracy of ERP data.Assist the VP of Finance in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities, including costing, forecasting, and budgeting.Proactively anticipate deadlines, prioritize, and create plans to meet objectives and distribute workload spire and motivate the accounting team, linking their daily tasks to the company's success and fostering a sense of value and satisfaction in their work.Provide training and guidance for the professional growth of team members.Ensure the Accounting department resolves all customer or vendor issues promptly while maintaining good relations to prevent disruptions in deliveries or services.Analyze errors, conduct root cause analysis, determine corrective actions, and implement preventive measures, focusing on results and desired outcomes.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.8+ years of direct accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.4+ years of experience as a Controller or Accounting Manager in a small to mid-sized company, managing a team of 3 or more direct subordinates.Proficiency in GAAP and experience with "SAP Business One" or similar middle market ERP software (e.g. NetSuite, Epicor, Sage, JD Edwards, MS Dynamics) and QuickBooks.Strong leadership, management, accountability, problem-solving, and communication skills.Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.Please include the number of years worked as an Accounting ManagerController and experience with SAP Business One and QuickBooks in your application
